No it was not. The selection was on past reputation. I’m an MI fan but I objected selection of MI players in the team as they’re woefully out of form in IPL.

 

Would've never picked up Shami or Mystri spinner. All teams going with leg spinner except India. 
 

They are now selecting this year IPL stars in the NZ-series. Why? Why not continue with these old stars and select this years IPL performers in next year tournament?

They picked a decent side (EXCEPT pacers) before the ipl. Tentative squad.

 

The squad post IPL was wrong.

 

Cos 9 out of 11 players were out of form.

 

In form players were sent back.

 

Venkatesh Iyer, Shaw, Ruturaj, Siraj, Chahal (instead of Chahar) - Had they been in squad, SF was guaranteed.
