Who can?

Gaikwad

Shaw

Kishan

Gill

Yashaswi

Venky

Heck even Surya...

I don't know why we are sucking up to this mental midget kela.

A newbie..  Maybe Gaikwad or Paddikal.  At least they won't get out on single digit scores.

Shaw is also a candidate

All unproven but yes need to be given a shot. I like Shaw and Jaiswal for T20s

yes players on bench are always better. They need to be tried but dont become automatically better

Well talent is always there...  If Gaikwad is clutch or Paddikal than someone like Jaiswal or Shaw so that should always be preferred.

Rahul overthinks a lot.   Rohit has poor technique & reflexes & a ready made buffet for left armers.  Most unreliable opening pair in KO's or big games.

We dont know that yet. I'm just going by their more aggressive approach required in T20s. Also they can bowl.

That T20 knock against Eng in Manchester back in 2018 is one that I can recollect.

Another one was in USA against WI.

But yes overall he dont have much to show. He is a brilliant batsman though but just not able to deliver on big stage.

We are playing too much of T20 cricket nowadays and getting obsessed with ICC tournaments.

In the 12 month before the WC, we had just two T20I series vs Aus a d England. SL doesn't count as it was a B team and then half the team was unwell.

Too few T20Is actually.

He is a good test batsman, but something is amiss in his LOI batting. He lacks certain aura or fear factor as an opener, he scores runs and he did for KXIP as well but he doesn't come across as team player in T20s especially. Very Pakistani like approach, securing his place first. He is what we call a softy player, a poor man's Kane Williamson. He maybe a technically or statistically superior to like of Dhawan, Gambhir etc but they could still threaten the opposition and don't even start on Sehwag, that guy was light years ahead.
