Will we make the WTC final this time?

Cricket is a sport that is a 3 horse race most of the time.  So even if we muddle through like we are right now, we still have a 30% chance.  That being said, its hard to see that % be higher, unless for other teams doing worse.

 

Apart from WTC, its just disappointing to see a team with so many resources repeatedly underwhelm.

We have to win in SA (if happens)  & then the final test vs England as well. 

I see Lankans troubling us at home after we botch the toss in at least one game. 

Embuldeniya Jayawickrama & Chameera Kumara won't be easy to deal come March.  Mohali & Bangalore are the venues.

Even Murali was ordinary in India. The pitches are different to that in SL.

Murali was ordinary coz of great players of spin in Indian side.  Fact that now they have a solid pace attack as well makes them a very different challenge to face in SC tracks. 

Last time they visited they only lost 1-0 margin in a 3 match series.  Delhi test had all 3 results possible till final session.  They look a better side than they were in 2017 I think.  They didn't had anyone good barring Herath back then..  And he too was on his last legs.

Poor chaps like Sundar, Pant, Thakur, Vihari who legitimately gave their heart out and toiled to win AUS series no longer have their spots sealed and get repeatedly dropped for the losers above who just punch average numbers just enough to save their spot in the team.

sarma  is in top form,   kohli  can get back to form,  only rahane and puja are not looking good.

May need to win our last 8 tests to get into the final.

Doable tbh. 

 

I think we can beat Aussies 2 0 or 3-1. We will definitely draw or lose one game. They may be out for revenge too. 

 

We need to beat saffers however. A 2 0 win over them would be amazing.

Kiwis will make it to the final.  They will steamroll every side at home.  Only real threat for them will be Saffers ironically.  Kiwis have terrible record vs them home  away just like they have with Aussies. 

Olivier is back & he is running through sides in domestics. 

Rabada Nortje Olivier is a scary attack to begin with. 

They have managed to avoid Australia this cycle though real plus for them.  They will beat Poms away next summer. 

 

India can make it..  But we have to smash both Bangladesh & Sri lanka ruthlessly.  Australia will be tough to get away again..  As they will arrive after dealing with Pakistan..  So they will be prepared. 

 

India Pakistan Australia NZ are top contenders.  If Australia beats Pakistan in Pakistan..  Then boom everything changes.

i am nervous about australia. hope we dont underestimate them. they will want revenge. they will be prepared for us. 

they dont care about pakistan tour. thats practice tour for the india series. Thats the real truth. i am being honest. Not trying to undermine pakistan at all. 

sri lanka wont be easy either but we should beat them convincingly. 

 

we get to face rabada nortje and olivier. i think we will do well only because we play bounce and pace quite decently. Not easy at all however. they also have elgar, qdk, pieter malan who scored a century recently vs india A tour side. markram and van der dussen. this s.afirca is actually quite strong. I am surprised by their poor results honestly.

Doesn't seem very likely. I am expecting SA to do well in their home, and Oz to do well in India.
