Next big surprise coming up in Maharashtra. I was expecting this to happen earlier. MVA breaking up from within.

The biggest winner is Fadnavis, his stature has increased a lot, despite not being in power. It's still a wait and watch for BJP. The numbers are not in their favor, and the greed for power corrupts things.

It seems like 1995 Gujarat elections where BJP won the elections yet was backstabbed and was in opposition. And ultimately, after 2 years, BJP got back in power and has remained since. Maharashtra can become a BJP bastion long run if things prevail well...

@ravishingravi Hearing that drama might have been instigated by Thackareys themselves as the BMC election is coming up and shiv sena is not confident of winning it... BMC coffers are supposed to be the richer than Delhi/some of the smaller states

@G_B_ probably can shed more light

Why would UT bring down his own state Govt to gain coffers in a municipality election? Doesn’t make sense.

Planning to align with BJP & win BMC with their support

But why would BJP oblige? They have the upper hand, they think they can probably win MH single-handed like they did in Kar in 2008 after the sympathy gained from the JD(s) /Kumaraswami backstabbing . Very similar to what UT did. Phadnis has kept the ship intact so far.

Uddhav could have been the undisputed No.2 in BJP-led government, yet now being the supremo of his own party is disputed.

He immediately has to save his own party head seat, and him going back to Matoshree is reflecting that. Interesting, his own father also once said he will leave Party Chief post if they want but his supporters came big time on the streets to support him.  His son trying the same thing, but has little true support on the street...
