Sachin average versus Warne would be high as he played in Warne's debut series in 1992 (Iirc, Shastri smashed Warne at Sydney on his debut, Sachin got a 100 in that game too), and in 1998, Tendulkar was in superb form (probably the best he has batted) when Warne came to India. Sachin got 2 100s in the series if I am not wrong. Mumbai even beat Aus iirc in that series where Tendulkar got a 200. Only if Tendulkar had sustained that kind of form!

Yea. Interesting. Kalis averaged 40 vs mcgrath

And 41 vs Warne.

IF your number is accurate that would not be against those bowlers but when they (or one of them) are in the team 

 

As mentioned before, Kallis is playing in Aus and SA, where Aus bowling attack is relatively more lethal than in subcon and Aus combo

I agree. Too time consuming to find stats for both together unless someone has access to that subscription based cricket stat website. 

Yes it's individual stats. 

 

I know playing in s.africa is harder vs pace. But so would playing Warne technically in India. 

 

In saying that all we can compare is their stats vs mcgrath in Australia. Its 53.69. 

Tendulkar 46.7

 

51 for kallis if you exclude the game vs world 11 against Aussie ATG 11.

I used to post on rec dot sport dot cricket till it got ruined.

 

Now there was a guy there from England whose opinion I agree with who posted this about Kallis when Kallis was being talked about as all time great allrounder.

 

He said that when Sobers/Kapil/Botham/Imran/Hadlee did their thing - people stopped to look at TVs. When Kallis came on to bat or bowl - people decided to go have  a drink or a coffee or grab a bite to eat etc.

 

He said something to the effect "All time greats should not be a caterers best friend".

Haha, that's true. 

Couldn't have said it better but none the less he won games for his country. 

He was boring as hell to watch though.

 As soon as Pujara comes to bat I start looking at the lizard looking calm and attaining peace on my ceiling. It's much exciting and soothing.

Kallis was Mr. Dependable. Add to that his AR ability (bowling + fielding) and he will obviously shade Tendu and all other post-1990s cricketers. kind of inevitable with those of multi-skill sets.

It's unfair to compare both tbh. Kalis is the best ever. 

As a pure batsman alone then you could say tenda is slightly ahead. Difference isn't much.

I will put Sir Gary and Mike Proctor slightly ahead among the ARs I've seen - one as batting AR and the second as bowling AR. Proctor has poor int'l stats with bat, but he was very talented and his low batting avg was because: (1) low sample size, (2) he batted too low, and (3) he did not have to score many runs when he played, thus less motivation. As for Sir Gary, he and Kallis have similar stats, but the former was a more complete batter. However, Kallis is the "best" cricketer since the 1990s IMO

Can't argue there. All 3 can make a case for the best ever.
