So i was thinking about making second all time XI for top nations. I will start with most time world champions in this format Australia cause it's far more easy. Make best all time second XI for any nation & do mention your first all time xi as well.

Second XI: (looks bit more like 2015 worldcup other than openers)

Mark Waugh

Matthew Hayden

Damien Martyn/Steve Smith

Michael Clarke (c)

Shane Watson

Glenn Maxwell

Haddin/Carey (wk)

Mitchell Johnson

Pat Cummins/Nathan Bracken

Josh Hazelwood

Adam Zampa/Brad Hogg

Batsman Missed out:

Steve Waugh, Allan Border (both have been worldcup winning captain & maybe only two who won worldcup and couldn't make into first all time XI & here not even in second xi)

Bowlers Missed out:

Fleming, Lillee, Pascoe, Gillespie, S Tait, McDermott, Bichel

Btw This is my first XI.

Gilchrist (wk)
Warner
Ponting (c)
Dean Jones
Bevan

Hussey
Symonds
Warne
Lee
Starc
McGrath

Our batting is as good (if not better) as Australian but we are probably lacking one great spinner in limited overs to match their bowling.

Ill have 2 combo play jaddu as lone spinner and go for shami instead of kumble (all out pace attack|)

Or play hardik n have kumble . Although hardik hasnt done much to deserve a place in all time i wanted a basher who give me both batting n bowling cushion equally

Rizwan did nothing yet in odis nor he has opened in odis. Surely they have someone better for first playing xi. Team looks strong but similar to 1999 worldcup which couldn't win worldcup.

i needed to fit in a keeper somewhere (he opens in t20 and does very well, opening in t20 n odi isnt much diff)

problem with all their keepers none possesses firepower in lower middle order so best way to fit them is to open, im sure if rizwan opens in ODI his career will boom

For Aus i kept warner also at 3 coz i knw he can adjust to that role with ease n done sometimes for SRH, in LOI i feel ppl take batting order to srsly it shud be flexible for most batsman

England's All time XI

Bairstow
Roy
Root
Pietersen
Stokes
Morgan (c)
Buttler (wk)
Woakes
Rashid
Archer
Wood

Second All Time XI

Trescothick
Strauss (c)
Trott
Lamb/Bell
Collingwood

Alec Stewart
Flintoff
Ian Botham
Darren Gough
Swann
Bob Willis

Would have loved to put flintoff into first xi but the only player he could replace is morgan and then we don't have captain. Probably will make buttler captain if i had to. Would pay to watch Australian bowling attack against England batting lineup with aggressive mindset.

Didn't get what is the thread about? Is it second all time ODI XI for each of the top countries? But for that, we need to be clear on first XI. Isn't it? And obviously for each there will be few changes there.

I would say that you could replace Woakes with Flintoff

Feel James Faulkner should feature in the second team, if not for injury he would be an LOI Great. was a good clutch player, MotM in 2015 WC final

OP, Steve Waugh missing out on your 1st 11??. He was the reason why they won in 1999.

Waugh, Border & Clarke will most likely not make into Australian all time xi even though all 3 of them won worldcup.
