Chappell: Test cricket can't afford to be boring

Lashing out at crap pitches and trundler culture:

I feel Pakistan wanted 5 days games to ensure they get as much revenue as possible.

 

India too did the same in thw 80s. It was a money spinning option.

Chappell is legend,trundlers are so ugly to this game that they kill whatever little excitement you have for any form of cricket

But trundlers will be sidelined for good from LOI cricket soon anyway

Agree, Pant is probably the only reason I watch test matches in India currently.

100% this. Cricket is a brutal sport. It's not for pussies. Unlimited bouncers in all formats is a fine idea.

that's what the batters of old had to face, along with unlimited beamers - I remember some of WI quicks bowling some nasty beamers deliberately. batting was a tough business in those days.

Tbh we don't get many drawn tests these days unless there are weather interruptions. 4 tests continuously being drawn is a rarity these days.

you will see more roads from Pak imo. that seems to be their default mode against strong teams.
