Suhaan Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 My perspective, Most attacks aren't all conditions attack these days, means they don't have plan B to bank on when things go south in alien conditions India may have done better given the conditions they know how to bowl on these pitches in these conditions even if its flat Australian bowlers too would have pulled it off in their conditions,Sydney test, Brisbane test were exceptional from our point of view Pant hit them hard in Brisbane they didn't know what hit them Dont think Lyon bowl bad ,he looked decwnt to me,mind you if they had taken their catches result would have been different, And offcourse Azam, Shafique played quite well
putrevus Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 (edited) It is bit too much to expect any side to match that Aussie juggernaut of early 2000s.Even those sides had some meltdowns like 418 4th innings chase by WI and Eden gardens. This Aussie attack is an excellent fast bowling attack unit for all conditions.Lyon is on last legs and Swepson made his debut. Jay Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 it isnt an all conditions attack. its their second best attack of all time. India's attack is just better though. 1) india 2) aussie 3) saffer 4)nz 5) england
Jay Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 kohli fans are truly a special kind of degenerates. THey need to go out and actually play for a club at a high grade cricket level.
SK_IH Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 They dropped too many catches in this game, you cannot fault bowlers if fielders keep shelling catches Suhaan 1

It was a day 3 pitch effectively. All their games have gone properly into day 5. Apples to oranges comparison. @Trichromatic One thing is all of these matches have happened after sandpapergate and Starc has been wicketless in most of them. Tinfoil hat? Maybe, maybe not?

Bumrah couldn't do much all on his own, unfit Siraj did hurt India there Shami isn't that potent overseas Our spinners including Ashwin like usually are average too in those conditions Thakur apart from 7 wickets isnt that reliable either They just had to see off Bumrah ,we need an all round attack for different conditions We missed a trick there by not playing Prasidh ( who is tall bouncy like saffers) and also an in form Saini there

Aussies did fail in Gabba, no way they should have allowed Indian team chase that total down. Do you really think headlingley was a failure of Aussie bowling .IMO it was more England being lucky.

No he isn’t. He averaged something like 23 that tour. you can’t except him to bail you out every time. without bumrah we would not have won in mcg 2018 and if we drew that series who knows whether we would have won in 2021? without bumrah we are not winning lords and oval 2021. no one comes through all the time.

Bowling out England in oval at that patta where even Indian tailenders were making merry and England had a 100 run partnership. Bowling out aus in 2018 mcg on that patta.

No he is not,who he was leading? An attack of Thakur,Umesh,Ashwin all of them highly inconsistent overseas SA pitches tend to get better as game progresses, sure he could have done better, there is always scope for improvement 240 is a moderate target, given the attack we had SA had huge chance to chase it unless we were helped by the pitch itself We lost due to our endurance tolerance to keep duds like rahane pujara who failed time and again
Suhaan Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Kohli fans are doing wierd things to find parallels in mediocre performance within the team to hedge on,latest coping mechanism But they don't realise he wouldn't be best even in his Ranji team
