Trichromatic Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Pakistan once scored 450 and lost by 40 runs. England chased 350+ with help of Stokes. India chased 300+ at Gabba. Pakistan 277/4 at Karachi. India batted whole day to save Sydney test and scored 300+.
Nikola Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 (edited) Lyon goes missing unless pitch has deteriorated enough. Even starc is pretty average against top sides. Cummins has to do the all job. Edited March 16, 2022 by Nikola Stan AF 1

Norman Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 All those are flat batting wickets. Just got better and better for batting at Headingley and Gabba.
Serpico Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Don't forget the Sydney 2022. England was 9 down but couldn't close the deal Aussies have been choking in 4th innings for a while now

vvvslaxman Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 If it were our bowlers we would use all the filters to run them down :) Lord 1

You forgot that Sydney game this year but that was not Australia's A choice attack. It feels like Lyon isn't doing the business in the 4th innings.

Aus seem to be struggling more often than other teams in 4th innings while defending big total. Pattern is same, fast bowlers look toothless on flat pitches, spinners completely ineffective. What are they missing? If you go by ICF's gold standard of pace attack, they have everything. Tall fast bowlers who are capable of bowling 140-155 kph. Reverse swing skills, hit the deck pacers.

How did Bumrah and Shami look in SA defending 4th inning totals on spicy wickets.Aussie bowlers atleast have an excuse of pitch becoming completely flat. Edited March 16, 2022 by putrevus

Hazelwood is a 135-138 bowler. Occasional 140. Cummins is a 135-141 bowler. Indian attack is superior as an all conditions attack. Oh did I forget. Indian attack is the goat Asian pace attack.

Yea siraj injury had nothing to do with it ofcourse. Not picking prasidh because of your dunderhead moron was not the reason at all. Especially when you need a tall pacer Lel. That was a pitch that got better for batting. This one in pakistan was getting worse but on a marginal scale. Huge difference.
vvvslaxman Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Fact is Australians won't blame their bowlers for not doing well on ineffective surfaces. We are quick to run them down for inadequacies of batsmen. Suhaan 1

Or did any sort of hard physical work.
express bowling Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I have always maintained this view that the Australian sides of 2017 to 2022 lack the mental toughness that the 1995 to 2015 sides had. Put them under pressure and they will most probably underperform and may even crumble. And Cummins is really sub-par on abrasive surfaces. Depends a lot on bounce to take wickets. If bounce is not available then he may underperform. kohli, Nikola, nevada and 1 other 1 3
