One or two more performances like this and he will book his ticket to Australia instead. Why do people forget that one can have a weak spot and can still score runs? He's one of the few guys in our setup who has am outright positive mindset and good temperament. Spin will play a big role (contrary to what most people believe) on those large Australian grounds so we need someone like him who can hit those 95 m sixes against them in the middle overs.

He is not so talented that he can score runs despite many weaknesses. 2. He has major weakness against leg spinners and faster spinners too. He is only good against slow off-spin bowlers. So he is neither good against fast bowling nor spin bowling. It's not that he cannot hit against those type of balls, he cannot even negotiate them, he is that poor. Many past and current batsmen have issues with short bowling, but Iyer is another level. 4. He is a batsman in the mould of Kohli, Rohit in terms of intent. He is no SKY. In the middle overs, every team has good leg spinners. Zampa, Hasaranga, Shadab, Ish Sodhi, Adil Rashid etc. He will be a sitting-duck against them.

We have many who can do it. As someone said,he struggles v fast spin too.
