Anout 45% of the defence pension bill still goes to civilian-defence employees.

·        Those coming under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) would get 15% additional pay while in service and a package on retirement, which is far more than what soldiers earn in service because they retire many years earlier.

·        Each of the seven lakh serving civilian-defence employees is five times more expensive than his/her uniformed counterpart.

·        Even civilians from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) on attachment with the Minister of Defence (MoD) are paid from the defence budget (pay and pension) – why?

https://www.financialexpress.com/defence/agniveer-an-army-veterans-detailed-argument-against-agnipath-scheme-part-1/2566452/

-----------

So pension and perks of civil defence employees is ok. But the one who serve the army at lowest level should not be given any benefit

Who said anyone ok...this life long pension should stop. For soldier it's still ok who are in regiments and fight r on border but not to everyone. Also they are already plannin to curb pension in other sectors as well...As far as I know in banking sector for any new hired post 2012 (have to check) or so they have stopped pension . They will only get their EPF lumpsum and a part of it as an pension. Pension is still ok for someone who served for 60 years. But why there should be lifelong pension in short service commission. Government has already merged so many bank and cut vaccancy in banking sectors you dint see such hue and cry. I think all these subsidies and free distribution policy should stop if country need to reform in innovation and explore new sector for employment.

Why is Agniveer leaving the training in the middle? Government is considering to recover the expenses

Agniveers leaving training. No Gorkha in recruitment, Government considering making 50 percent Agniveers permanent

Whoever designed this scheme was living in wonderland.

Injured Agniveer sent back home

This scheme is going to disaster for indian army in future. Already news is coming that Army appeal in Haryana is gone

if the appeal goes down in typical army recruiting states, I wonder if the other states will pick up the slack

NDA Allies Call For Review Of Agnipath, JD(U) Distances Itself

Schemes like Agnipath are highly unpopular. Will allies take blame of it?

Doesn’t it come from the recommendations of the army? They are recruiting 4 times more than required and keeping back only 1/4 th those with merit (in physical terms), rest have options to join states forces etc. This way more jobs are created. Sad that it got politicized by opposition.

Just quoting articles and having nothing of your own. That's dumb, do you own research, and understand the ground reality?

Wars today aren't about maintaining a large army. It's need modernization, and not a sarkari job, with pension scheme.

It's that huge burden of finances that this scheme rightfully tackles, and modernizes our army with a young, fit and skillful reserve number of soldiers who can be called upon.

Now, we can back to street veto power, so there is the obvious entitlement among the small towns.  But why would a educated person disagree with such a scheme?

People in India think employment = only govt jobs that are required to pay lifelong pension and lifelong job security.

No one wants to understand that business and industrial growth are the only ways to increase wealth and improve living standards. In India, we are in a unique position to use our centuries-old knowledge to make businesses that are unique to us - but no. Only, government job that is a drain on our country's already stretched resources.

Reservations, freebies are drugs in our system introduced to keep the masses in an addled state of demanding state welfare to reach mediocrity. Nehru's socialism has been such a curse for us. I wish that POS had been assassinated along with MKG and Vallabhai Patel had become the PM as he was supposed to.

Army is about quality. Gurkha not coming, coaching Institute closing youth selecting other career options agniveers leaving training clearly tell that army is not going to attract the best which means quality will drastically get down .

Agniveer keeps the top 25% of ppl in the army. The rest are given life skills they would otherwise need to pay for in college along with a pay. Upto them what they want to do. People who actually want to be in the army will still go. The rest who just want to be a chowkidar somewhere or do ironing and gofer jobs for the army aunties can do so on someone else's tab.

Army isn't about cowardly. There is a aging number, high pension number, which the army rightfully resolves through agniveers. Life skills, transferable skills is the reality of modern times, and thus one needs innovation.

For cowards like yourself, you keep preaching how "all is well" or  just afraid of changing the "status quo".

This is india not USA. By posts like these you show how you are out of touch from reality. One which are weak in study and have good physical fitness opt for career as jawan in army. Even in the event for non selection they opt for career like bus truck driver farming etc. They are hardly going to college Those who go to college opt for officer level selection in army

Opposition to Agnipath doesn't solve anything nor makes your smarter. The problem is there, and you are running away from resolving it. That's cowardly, and I will say it in your face.

Just because BJP proposed it, you are oppositing it. It's helpless and small-minded behavior. Same thing of sudden opposition with farm laws,  despite of decades of documented evidence of farmers, organizations supporting it.

Just one random article, and that's your best?  Where is your own thinking, your own solutions to resolve the problems? You are just a coward who has nothing to say of his own, and just opposing for the sake of it.

Like even Yash Mor here, he also talked about fine-tuning the scheme, not just running away from the problems like yourself. This scheme brings a modernization of our forces, and tackles the aging numbers, and pension numbers.

It is not one. When scheme was introduced most of ex army officers started speaking against it. But in one day they all gone quiet.

Are you seriously naive? Do you think the government makes a scheme out of the blue? It comes with years of research, consultation, feedback and choices with different stakeholders.

It was the same thing with farm laws.
