I want the bowling to be ...

7. Jadeja

8. Avesh

9. Siraj

10. Chahal

11. Prasidh

We had the confidence to play and win with 7 batters vs England and there is no reason why we can't do the same vs a weaker WI.

Avesh can tonk no?

not really. he is a no. 10 batter going by int'l standards and even a no. 11 in some teams (less than boult).

Considering Siraj's form, it's unlikely. Otherwise, would've been the case.

In domestics he can, but no idea about international level.

Didn't he hit Rashid for two sixes in the V. He must have played some 15 balls and I have seen atleast a few sixes from him this season. Power is there for sure. Numbers don't matter, tailenders don't take batting seriously, unless someone advices them to.

Pick three pacers on merit if their bowling is way better than Shardul. Bumrah, Shami and Prasidh( when this series started) clearly had the reputation of that. I don't think in ODIs, Avesh, Siraj and Prasidh attack should play together alongwith Chahal as four bowlers. Gotta pick Shardul here and I will also pick Arshdeep for death overs.

he seems to be a fluke slogger at most. perhaps we will know more if he plays more regularly.

Early Samson type. Does his thing without thinking of his team's situation.

As Jadeja was injured Axar played in his place and yesterday won the match with his batting.

Now if for the 3rd odi Jadeja is fit,can he walk in the playing 11 straight away.

When the new players get chances they should perform.such that seniors who are skipping this matches should not just walk in the playing 11

After this match, Axar needs to be tried in as many LOIs as possible.

Why after this match only? I don't think one performance should change how we perceive a player. He should play, I agree, but I used to think same earlier.

Rewarding batting performances ... which result in the team winning from  tough situations ... must be the key.

This will change the mindset of Indian cricket from individual stats padding to playing crunch knocks under pressure.

He's still a bowler who can bat. Lower order cannot statpad anyway, it's always the top 4 (and Dhoni).

All I am asking is, would you have given up on him if not for this.

No. 7 hitter cum finisher is one of the key roles in LOIs. Any great batting performance for the team in this role has to be rewarded. This will send a message to the top 4 as well as Dhoni types too.

There is this tendency in this team that they play full season of IPL,but they choose to rest for international matches. They are so assured of their places that they can walk in the team whenever they want.

The selectors should select such a team that the seniors should have a fear of loosing their spots.

The ideal scenario should be that when Rahul,Jadeja ie  ,returns they are not automatic choice in the playing 11 ,but will have to wait for their replacement failure.

Such scenario should actually be faced by all seniors ie Dhawan,Virat,Shami,Ashwin .

He has been getting opportunities regularly but he has not performed consistently. He got to play as Jadeja was injured .

Yesterday's perfomance, should act as a moorale booster for him and he should performed consistently .He should also try to win matches with his bowling also.

The last two wins are because the whole team has performed as a unit.In batting Dhawan,Gill,Iyer,Samson,to a small measures Hooda,Surya have performed collectively.

In bowling also if some one has off day the other bowlers have upped their games.

Instead of one-sided wins these type of fighting wins which are decided till.the last balls are good for the young players.

This shows the character, fighting spirit ,camaderie of the whole team .

I would take this type of wins over the top.three doing the bulk of the scorings
