Case for both Chahal and Bishnoi?

Recommended Posts

If Deepak Chahar comes back (with decent form) is there a case for 2 leggies? Both are duds with bat in addition to Bhuvi/Bumrah being useless in T20 with bat. So will be left with 7 batsmen to do whatever damage.  Other option is "allrounders" Axar and Jadeja. Axar probably can play an innings like that every 10 innings or so. Jaddu can never.

Bhuvi/Bumrah/Arshdeep/Jadeja  -> Bhuvi/Bumrah/Chahar/Bishnoi

It will be bishnoi vs Ashwin vs Kuldeep- my choice Ashwin

  • Can bowl in PP
  • Immense experience
  • Variety in bowling
  • Can bat
  • Has experience of Australian conditions
  • Loves left handers
  • HE can allow us to sit even chahal on bench in one game or play various kind of combination
  • He is hungry to prove his white ball credentials
  • Kind of character u need in Wc

Ash in t20? If he is hungry, he can sit at saravan bhavan and eat his oothapam. We need quality wrist spin. Not finger spinners for loi.

It seems very niche scenario to me personally.
Dropping Jadeja is difficult unless Kohli finds his form, else, that would put too much expectations on Deepak Chahar with the bat (who is still a bowler with batting ability).

Yes. There are certain teams against which you can use them both much like KulCha. I still can't believe Kuldeep did not have enough game time after a very good IPL in a long time.

It's really unfortunate, but Kuldeep has no one but himself to blame.

Both Chahal and Jadeja leapfrogged him in the race with the backing from management, and to be fair Bishnoi hasn't done anything wrong in the sporadic chances that he has got. Kuldeep need to wait for his chances.

Australia plays both zampa and agar. With their big boundaries, attacking spinners will be riskier and put teams on backfoot

they can afford to. Their pacers and Agar can bat. With us our top pacers can't bat and if we have two spinners who can't either, will be very long tail.

Spinners still will be support bowlers to pacers in Aus. So we need to pick our top 3 pacers and hope pressure built by them helps whoever spinner plays.

Agar is a tailender. A tailender with 9 T20 sixes.

only issue with Ashwin is his fielding will be a major disadvantage in australian long boundaries.. to have chahal ashwin in deep mid wicket or mid on every 2 will be 3.. on flip side Dimensions of boundaries are much bigger so he cant be easily tonked for sixes other than in Adelaide

everyone has issues

Chahal fielding

Jadeja everything else then fielding

TBH our fielding is already compromised

Jadeja won us 2 t20s in SENA single handedly with his batting.. aus and england when india were 5 down for nothing.. so cant discount his batting.. bowling.. he is good for two overs when the opponent has just losta wicket..  so jadeja will be picked as 9 10 11 for us is Bhuvi Bumrah Chahal.

his 2 compares to a decade of Fck ups thats why no one trust him till date. Even if he plays 2 good innings their wud be some 20 trash around it

One reason is when he has overs in hands he does well but at 7 that cant work most days

Yea Jaddu will be picked i have given up on it

And yea Bhuvi-Bumrah-Chahal are locked and rightly so as they are our best bowlers

Because finger spinners in Australia get carted around. Wristies are potent.
