By looking at the ground dimensions and the way Irish chased against Zim with lots of running, these are tailor made conditions and grounds for Kohli to score huge runs without much boundary count. He is going to have 2014/2016 WC encore. If he opens in all matches, then I wouldnt be surprised if he breaks record for most runs for single edition

I think you are "misreading" the poll, which is from a high level perspective considering a team total of 180 (the mid point of 170-190 range). 

 

You would expect a handful of top tier in-form top order (#1-3) batsmen to score 200+ in the competition. As for SR, ideally, you would need around 150 to make an impact for scores in the above range (if the team score is more than 190, you would need an even higher SR). In a 180 total, say you play 30 balls and score 40, your SR = 134, implying that the rest of the team scored 140 off 90 balls, SR 156. With Ind's bowling 180 too is not necessarily a comforting total. In short, to be impactful too, ideally, you would need a SR of 150 or more in these conditions. 

 

 

To summarize, the implied question is -> considering his form and conditions in Aus, is Kohli, an experienced specialist top order (#1-3) batsman, going to score 201 or more at a SR of 150 or more (as explained above)?: 

 

0-200 = No (a large # of batsmen would fall into this category)

201-400 = Yes (a relatively small # of batsmen would fall into this category)

401 or more = Exceptional tournament (an outlier category deserving a )  

 

<149 = No (equals team score of <180 as mentioned in the poll) 

150-169 = Yes (equals a team score of 180-203) 

170 or more = An outlier performance (equals a team score of 204 or more) 

 

 

The same parameters work for key specialist top order (#1-3) batsmen from other teams too!

Note 401+ and a SR of <149 are almost incompatible unless # of games played is high (close to 10 or even higher). In this case, it could become counter productive for India (unless it is about Kohli scoring runs than India winning games  )
 

To get to 401 or more, he would need to score like 60-100 in every inning depending on the # of games (less games considered if associates in the group). Take 80 as midpoint, if he would have played around 60 balls (SR 134), it leaves others to get 100 off 60 (SR 167), aiming for a 180 total.

His 80 odd against Aus in 2016 T20WC is among my favorite knocks. A part of me wanted to see one more such inning from him before he retired. Good to see a glimpse of the 2016 season which included that extraordinary IPL as well. 

 

In 2016 WC, he hit 2 80s (another was versus WI in the SF), so let's hope he is able to hit one more. The Aus conditions suit him.
