2005 ODI series we lost due to infighting between Dravid, Ganguly & Chappell. MSD was a newbie who was super inconsistent. Sachin was also struggling with his tennis elbow and didn't has best of days from 2004-06.

 

2006 series, we lost Test series & were trailing ODI by 0-1, then RP Singh, Sree, Agarkar took command and defeated Pakistan 4-1. Not to mention the inns by Yuvraj and then 72(46)* & 77(56)* by MSD in third and fifth ODI respectively. 

 India losing that series in 2006 and drawing that 2005 series was a disgrace in my opinion.plus that odi series.

 

They barely won 2007 test series too.

 

That is biggest reason why I never rate FAB4 high. They lost to a team which they had no business of losing. They were weak mentally to stand up in tough times even though they all had talent.

We had terrible bowling attacks at that time. All India-Pak matches then were billed as Indian batting vs Pak bowling but those were the times we used to open the bowling with Ganguly...if Fab 4 had Bumrah, Shami, Siraj and Kuldeep, we would have been the best time in the world for 5+ years easily.

Feel sorry for Shami, Umesh, Bumrah, Ash-Jaddu. Had we played tests, these guys would have feasted on Babar and co. Test cricket has been our strongest format since 2015, and in SC conditions we are God tier, lucky lucky Pakistan.

I don't think so, Attack was just fine, Kumble and Bhajji were spinners in Indian leg of that 2005 series. 

 

That is why I also don't rate Kumble higher than Ashwin.

 

Do you know what was Pakistani bowling attack  in 2005 series.

 

They won odi series in India with bunch of nobodies as bowlers.

From 1990s to early 2000s Pakistan dominated India. I do not know before 1990. After 2010, India has had a superior team

We should count India's test record from 1947. Anyway we won 2 test series in Aus and Pak huffed and puffed to a series win vs a very weak West Indies only fairly recently. The difference is basically nothing, India's W/L ratio is 1 (even with British India stats included) and Pakistan's is 1.04 lol.

Pak will probably invite Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Ireland more often than us so they artificially keep it around 1. Also they don't really produce result oriented pitches.
