Does India need minimum two PROPER Punjabi players in the squad to win a World Cup?

Not to offend anyone but Northies tend to be more aggressive and more apt for sport compared to South who are more brainy and disciplined but not very confrontational and aggressive. Its just their mindset. There can be exceptions, for instance Laxman was fantastic under pressure and won/saved many games in tight situations. Same thing about Dravid or Kumble but generally this is not the case.

Even in 2011, we had Sehwag. Gambhir, Kohli, Yuvraj, Bhajji, Dhoni, Nehra etc. from North belt. Take KL Rahul for example, that guy is talented but a phattu when it comes to big games and does very poorly under pressure. So there is some relevance to this.

If I am not wrong, NZ gives preference to cricketers that are mentally tough and aligned with NZ cricketing culture.

India tends to focus on “talent” (proved by stats padding), along with connections where applicable, only.
