S Chanderpaul who scored 8000+ runs with 41 average and almost exact SR as Dravid. 

 

Chanders and Dravid two correctly rated defensive LOI batsmen - yeah they had big long careers but nobody would want to build a team in the image of either in LOI cricket.

 

Today everybody in the Indian team (bowlers and batsmen) play like Dravid. In one word - Defensive.

Its so sad that India actually has the team that can win a World Cup but will never be accepted.

 

In many ways India has become like SA from the last century, where SA excluded blacks, we exclude kids at the expense for old out of form players.

SA  in the 90s was much better than ind then. they had loads of class ARs - mcmillan, kallis, pollock, klusener and some players who were semi-ARs - symcox, crookes, cronje, etc

shardul and chahar aren't true ARs. they are bowlers who can bat that later got retrofitted into AR slots. initially, many (myself included) had high expectations, but one must temper them now
