vvvslaxman Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Last 2 years is a good cut off point. (500 balls min) We have entire batting top order in top 50. Rohit and agarwal 49 which is not overly terrible. Look at Vihari and County Cricket Lion express bowling and raki05 2
vvvslaxman Posted December 12, 2022 Author Posted December 12, 2022 Let us look at the reverse order. Pant scores faster than every bazballer from England raki05 1
King6 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Actually present generation Ind batsman didn't played on pattas like last generation ind batsman.. This is the main reason for our batsman underperformance in tests..

Majestic Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Strike rate is not necessary in Tests.. If you are playing like a Pant or Sehwag then its great or else 45,50,55,60 are all about same only.. Below 45 and above 65 makes a difference though in negative and positive ways both.

But this generation batsman(particularly indians) played mostly on bowling friendly pitches.. Laxman played 134 tests, out of 134 tests 46 tests was drawn.. Virat captained 68 tests, in 68 tests only 11 tests were drawn.. Recently home tests too worst for batsman Majestic 1

Not necessary. But ultra defensive approach often allows bowlers to get settled without allowing the batsmen doing much of a damage. Texan 1

Dravid also played defensively, but more often than not, when set, he made the bowlers pay. With Pujara, it is just blocking 60-70 balls, taking one or two blows on the body and then meekly plodding at one to the keeper.

Vijy Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 what matters more than just avg or just SR is a weighted combo of the two; the weights change from tests to ODIs to T20s to T10s
