The thing which I said above holds true for legends and highly successful persons. This theory of compromise is good only for people with limited abilities and low confidence.

Key word. Legends and successful players apparently deserve to keep playing till they decide to quit themselves irrespective of their performances. Welcome to India. This is the typical Indian fanbot behaviour. Not everybody can be like us. For example, I am a Big bumrah and umran fan. I wouldn't hesitate whatsoever to advocate for them to be dropped if they underperform. Be a fan but not a fanboy. Pollack, Vijy, eulbninem and 1 other 1 3

But I recognize the fact that he is grossly underperforming in LOIs in the last 3 years regarding picking wickets at key moments. If we can find 2 other pacers who can bowl accurate yorkers at pace to cover the death bowling, I am totally in favour of dropping him in LOIs. We need to see who are ones who are performing their roles well and not the names involved. Stan AF, Vijy, speedracer and 1 other 1 1 2

He bowled utter filth in wtc final when he just returned post injury and he literally cost us the game. Everyone else bowled well except him that day. Do not rush him. nevada and Vijy 2

It all depends on Bumrah's fitness and how he looks in the LOIs preceeding BGT. There were no such games to assess these before the WTC final. He is usually an amazing test match bowler, irrespective of how he is in LOIs. SRT100, speedracer and Vijy 2 1

Honestly it's his worst format. Yes I know 6/18 whatever happened but the workload is getting difficult to manage. Let's just have him for tests as he is a great test bowler and he can play select few t20 games and the t20 Wc. I don't think we need him at all for odi. We have plenty of options. Only issue is we need someone to pick them. Vijy 1

Most of our other LOI pacers either lack pace and get hit in bigger matches or lack death bowling skills.
