Naturally I am biased as I really want to see the game played at the MCG, however I do respect that my brothers in India and on here (ICF posters) may think differently.

I would accept that most Indians, BCCI would not want this to happen. Its easy for me to say I would love it, because I am so far removed and immune to the issues between India and Pakistan. What I struggle to understand though, is that its accepted that they can play WC and Asia Cup matches at neutral venues but not a Test series in Australia?

The Melbourne Cricket Club, who manage the MCG, and the Victorian government have made informal inquiries to Cricket Australia about hosting a Test match between India and Pakistan in Melbourne after the success of the classic T20 World Cup encounter played between the two sides in October.

keeping emotions aside this is realistically not possible... the relationship between the two govts is all time low. Barrage of insults hurled recently is only going to make it harder for them to play even multi-nation tournament forget about the bilateral match.

Don't think we should give them a cent to play against us If it were sanctioned.

even putting the politics aside, I don't want to play this grade B test team. I can accept that Pak is a good T20 team and a decent ODI team, but in tests they are not close to india, even though we (india) keep making selection blunder after blunder.

Then again, great opportunity to destroy them.

Dont worry, Im sure we would end up getting Ishant and Rahane back into the team. Hell they may bring back Dhoni for the test match for his army expertise. :hysterical:

what is the obsession. no play with phakis. they wanted to separate from the hindus, have hatred for hindus and continue to demonstrate the same:finger:

Im totally fine if we dont want to play them in a Test match, but lets extend this to all games of cricket. Which Im totally fine if thats the case.

So we can play Pakistan in WC tournaments and Asia Cup is fine?

What if we were to play Pakistan in a WTC Final? Do we not play?

bilaterals are diff than WCs or WTC final. to play a bilateral is to recognize a country as legit (in the sense of having diplomatic relations)

A WTC final, Asia Cup or WC tournament game ( KO or otherwise) not played will hurt our chances. We dont want to hurt ourselves. So we should play them in such games.

No Bilateral games

if there is a match held, I will not mind watching it. but my personal preference is not to have such matches for the time being.

Personally, I am against any bilateral match between India and Pakistan.

For such bilaterals, isn’t BCCI required to get permission from GOI? Or have things changed?

If GOI still decides on these type of bilaterals, such discussions are nothing more than timepass.

India avoid playing Pakistan in bilaterals because we want to punish them for their anti-India activities.

If we skip a match in a tournament, then we will be punishing ourselves by losing key points. The purpose won't be served.

If we have to play Pakistan in a WTC Final in a neutral country then we are likely to play because of the above reason.

But a bilatersl test match / series is similar to a bilateral LOI series.

Even if due to a almighty otherwordly miracle this happens...  BCCI & PCB would host it in India or UAE.  They won't give  a penny to CA

And why would they. Not a cent would go to pcb either. It will be in a venue which likely lines the pockets or bcci
