Well it is not my fault that fools only know “2 types of Indians”. As they say, “Mullah ki daud masjid tak”.  (Similarly, turn it into religion X v religion Y, region X v region Y, etc.)

All those crappy opinions do not change what I wrote on “sports”.

PS talking about “Indians”, most are highly unpatriotic, who channel their fake patriotism through cricket, while evading taxes, polluting the country, not stoping to help those in accident, selling adulterated food and medicine, etc.

Exhibit 101.xxxxxxx  of a brown man trying to sell himself on "I'm not at all like those 1.3 billion other guys - I'm 'different'.  I'm way 'better' than those dudes."  etc etc

Hey, its ok.  Everybody has their own set of whatever issues.

Surely, there has got to be some protocol for whether someone can use a pitch on which a Test match has been played on. The pitch is not the same as a practice pitch. I haven't heard anyone requesting this before, but if there is a protocol for such things, it should be applied. Practice pitches are provided to both teams. What if Indian team also requested that they practice on this pitch? What would the ground's management do? There is only one match pitch and both team cannot practice at the same place at the same time. Did Australia provide such match pitches to us when we toured there? There has got to be a protocol and a reciprocity agreement in place if such a request should be honored.

This. I want to know as well. What really is the protocol here?

Why can’t I be saying the truth how I see it without wanting anything from anyone?

If I wanted something from “brown folks”, I would write (falsely) how great it is. If I wanted something from white folks, I would write something nice at a place where they dwell, not here.

Ppl would even hang a Jesus Christ!

There is no protocol AFAIK & I've never seen anyone request practicing on the center wicket/square after a game's over! It may have been justified if the request was approved from the top at VCA or BCCI, but there's no evidence to that.

What are you talking about? Looks like you haven't watched Test cricket in Sydney in a while and appear to be blindly trusting what the Aussies told you.

Read this article about how "spin friendly" SCG has been of late:

https://www.theroar.com.au/2019/01/03/is-the-scg-still-a-spin-friendly-track-or-is-it-all-just-a-myth/

SCG has traditionally been spin friendly relatively speaking. At times, it helps batsmen too (and Aus now tends to uses drop in pitches at many of the venues ). It is one of the grounds where India uses spinners well and has been able to draw many games.

There is a difference b/w spin friendly and rank turners.

And why do you think pitches in India that support spinners are "doctored". Pitches in India always traditionally supported spinners or were flat batting tracks. Its not like we suddenly turned green bouncy pitches into spin friendly ones. Of course, if you listen to too much Aussie media propaganda, you will start believing that we "doctored" pitches, but that's not the case. We have always had spin friendly pitches in our cricket history.

As I said, there is a difference b/w spin friendly pitches and rank turners, which are a result of leaving the pitch relatively unprepared or using selective preparation (doctored).

Have already written about this on this thread.

The last time I had such an argument with him on similar lines, I heard a mod speak sermon from you  to keep it calm. So, please calm down. It’s hard to wake up somebody who pretends to be asleep.

Love it when folks try to justify cheating and unsporting cricket in the guise of nationalism (fake, most of these guys will sell India out for nothing if they get such an opportunity), brownness (hiding their own fears), tit for tat (even if irrelevant), or whatever (and they will do it in the comfort of like minded folks as if it matters:phehe:

Lol who is cheating ? Sandpaper and signaling to dressing room for DRS and saying brainfart. Justin langer knocking bails off and appealing, Ponting catching many balls that bumped right front of him. Are these enough cheating events ? Your nation is such  a great sporting nation. How are people selling out nation ? So  People going to US and Canada and settling is selling out thought you are included ? Browness lol what does that even mean ?

I do not have any special affection for Aus. Such statements are an example where many display a mindset where there is probably no such concept as someone wanting to be fair to others too and wanting his/her team to play sporting cricket (And that such basics have to be told to many is shocking!)

Individuals can do X or Y and they get punished too (Like Smith & Warner being handed out tough bans and removed from leadership). Teams like India, which I support, can cheat brazenly esp. as a team and not even realize that (with many fans resorting to whataboutism to justify such when one should be more concerned with his/her team playing fair/sporting cricket).

What others do is not necessarily an issue here. Even IF others cheat (which is a different topic), India does not need to do that (rather focus on putting its house in order). An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

SCG "was" spin friendly in the past, when Indian teams that toured Aus had decent spin bowlers, but not good enough batsmen to be able to outscore the Aussies. And because Indian teams lacked pace bowlers, a sizable first innings lead for Aus was sufficient to win. India has won just one Test match at the SCG, back in 1978 when Australia was playing with a weakened team.

Of late, as evidenced by the stats I shared, it has not been spin friendly at all. In fact, it has been a batsman's paradise. Australia don't even play 2 spinners at the SCG these days because they know very well that it is no longer spin friendly. But of course, you believed the lies they kept feeding you about how "SCG always offers turn". This is yet another case of how the Australian cricket media spins a false narrative intended to deceive.

But what everyone is telling you here is that is how it has "ALWAYS BEEN" in India. Pitches are prepared for being spin friendly because when you are in India, you are expected to play spinners. Just like the French Open is prepared with red clay, which is slow and aids a certain type of game play in tennis, pitches in India are prepared in a manner that suits spin bowlers.

Why are pitches that aid spinners considered "doctored", while those with so much grass that you cannot distinguish between the pitch and the rest of the ground considered "a GOOD PITCH". Who defines what is a good pitch? Who made you believe that if a pitch aids a reasonable amount of spin from Day 1 is a bad pitch? This narrative has also been written and fed by those whose teams never had the skill to excel in such conditions.

And by the way, RANK TURNERS can work against the home team too if they lose the toss and need to bat last. RANK TURNERS don't produce scores of 400 by one team while batting second after the team that batted first couldn't even last a full day when the pitch was at its best. So, what you call a RANK TURNER is actually a pitch on which runs could be easily made if you have the right skills. Even our number 9 batsman was able to get 80+ runs and looked untroubled throughout his innings. You cannot call it a RANK TURNER only when one team struggles to play on it.

Add to list:

Shoulder before Wicket dismissal to get the best batsman in the opposition out

Intimidating umpires and getting favorable decisions. I can't even count the number of umpiring decisions that went Australia's way during the 90s to 00s and the disproportionately lower number that went the opposition way.

No-balling hard-to-play opposition bowlers with suspect actions, while not doing the same to Australian bowlers with suspect actions

Using words to psych up a batsman that they cannot get out using cricketing means and then crying hoarse when someone from the opposition gives back. They think all of this is very acceptable to do ONLY when they do it.

This is apt. What I have see with many Indians in the west.

image.png.ff3110c4ce63b44c762c6d0b1802ecd9.png

Not just the west, there are many here too who are the personification of the above. Chomus who are given to 82 iq virtue signalling by using chimeras and false binaries to hide their inferiority complex. I use a more harsher word for them which I don't want to here, one being a slur used online by a certain aisle of the political spectrum in the west for Indians which is otherwise abhorrent but adequate and useful to describe this behavior in the kind of disdain that is needed.

Pitches where spinners come into play are spin friendly (spin friendly can have various degrees). Recently, Kuldeep picked up a 5-er in one of the tests and Jadeja picked up 4 wkts in the 1st inning in the last test.

No one is going by Aus' narrative, which is your assumption.

Nope. There is a difference between spin friendly, which can have various degrees, and rank turners, which is what is being discussed here ... I have followed various series where India did not have rank turners (apart from maybe a test here and there) but yeah spin friendly pitches. Examples being series versus Aus 2001 and 2004 (where Mumbai was a rank turner).

Rank turners are doctored pitches which are designed to help Ind's spinners, who are used to bowling on such.

What do you mean by the bolded statement? Are you implying that the pitch aids only India's spinners and doesn't aid opposition spinners? How? Are opposition spinners not skilled enough to utilize those pitches to their advantage?

And if this pitch was a "RANK TURNER", how did number 9 batsman bat so comfortably, playing proper cricketing shots score 80+?

How did India score 400 on a "RANK TURNER" despite batting second after Australia got bowled out on Day 1?

If it was truly a RANK TURNER, no team would have even been able to get to 150.

Obviously India's bowlers will be used to bowling on Indian pitches, just like Australia's bowlers are used to bowling on Australian pitches. What is wrong about that? Every home country has that advantage.

Rank turners offer an unfair advantage to Indian spinners. On rank turners, it can be difficult to come on either front or back foot (additionally, ball can keep low at times).

It is not unusual to see some batsmen do well on rank turners, which can have various degrees too. In the series versus Eng at A'bad, in one of the tests, Pant got a 100 and Sundar 90 odd.

So, what you are saying is that if certain batsmen have the SKILL to play on a RANK TURNER, then they can score runs. But if certain others from the opposition don't have the SKILL to play on them, then it is unfair to them.

Can you not make the same argument for bouncy pitches or pitches that offer seam/swing. If some of our batsmen are not skilled at handling pacy pitches or swing/seam, then those pitches also offer an unfair advantage to the opposition, right?

Nope. I am saying is that Rank Turners do not belong to cricket. Some random batsman can do well in any game.

Nope much like no one raises a finger on a regular spin friendly pitch.

It's not about tum or hum but Team India needing to play sporting/fair cricket (not develop a cheating culture where even some fans need to present unnecessary false arguments rather than seeking to be honest).

As I already said - "What others do is not necessarily an issue here. Even IF others cheat (which is a different topic), India does not need to do that (rather focus on putting its house in order). An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind."

How many tour matches were there?  Australia scored 469/7 in a practice match at the CCI stadium. Hardly a green track.

Yes it was one match only.

7 wickets didn't fall.  2 them were retired out. Most of the overs were bowled by Pandya, Dinda and Saini. You have to be pretty dishonest to think it wasn't a deliberate tactic by us to deny them practice against spin.

Why didn't any random batsman from Australia do well then? I don't think you watched the game as such. Most of the wickets fell either to straight balls or balls where the batsman's footwork was at fault. Players who have been playing poorly for a long time (KL Rahul, Pujara, Kohli) did poorly as expected. If you watched Axar's innings, you will see that his footwork was very good throughout and he played a largely chance-less innings. I would not call it a "random" act. You are undermining Indian players when you make that statement. It is a skill that they possess, not random acts.

Why do you say this one was a rank turner? It was not. Most balls just offered regular spin that is to be expected on Indian pitches and wickets were largely due to poor skills from Australian batsmen. Nobody can actually bat on a rank turner and no random acts work on those.

Anyways, you will go on rambling. So, I leave your opinions to you. In your World, this was a rank turner and Pujara is the greatest sportsman in the history of the universe. Good luck with both those thoughts!
