Bowled 143 in the first over as well.

Most trundlers occasionally bowl some early 140s in T20s when in great rhythm.

But they invariable come down to early 130s after a niggle or when not in great rhythm.

Seen the same with Bhuvi, Chahar and Sandeep Sharma

Vyshak  4 overs, 41 runs
Harshal  4 overs, 44 runs

Game after game, these mediocre trundlers have been getting destroyed.
But strangely, they are backed fiercely by franchise as if they are some future legends.
:wall:

it goes in Chinnawswamy, very few are spared, trundler or not.

Siraj 1 for 33 on the same pitch and in the same ground.

I said very few are spared. Siraj used to have same fate few years back. he is an experienced and highly skilled top class international bowler now.

Harshal is also quite experienced ( in his 5th IPL) and also 25 game international experience.

It all boils down to quality of bowler then. But why is Harshal considered a mainstay of RCB ??

He is undroppable at the moment irrespective of performance.

It is surprising that trundlers are debuting in IPL and that too in a country that is full of the equivalents of Lillee, Marshall, Ambrose, Donald, Steyn, etc.  :woot:

In our gully cricket, people bowl casually at 140 :dontknow:

Don't think Umran has a high ceiling despite being fastesr bowler in India.

He is getting decent opportunities but he has failed to grow.

Having a great captain is nice to have but ultimately its the bowler that need to make it count. Unfortunately Umran is faltering at this stage of his career.

It's just IPL. It's for learning. Players can have bad days. They aren't machines.

Umran's lines are decent for a express pacer but his lengths are horrible.  Either too short or very full.  His short deliveries have no bite & they just sit up to be hit.  He needs to get away from bowling those.   He is using it as his stock delivery.  Guys like Gurnoor & Rana have it coz they are tall & its their natural length.

His full deliveries are better but he needs more work on 4th stump channel bowling.  Yorker will come easy with this action.

Massive improvement needed overall.  Potential is getting wasted as of now.

Umran is losing his line this season. He just needs to target 4th stump at back of length as his stock ball. He needs a lot of spot bowling to train his muscle memory. Bowling is all about building muscle memory.

That's the problem with being shorter. You need to be more accurate. Taller as in over 6 foot bowlers can get away with bowling 130-135 if they are accurate. Shorties have to bowl 135 -140 plus consistently.
