I am loving the batting of Dube and Rahane this season and MI. Punjab is one of the top six hitting teams this season. GT relies more on their bowling attack. putrevus
Rahane looked finished , so did Dube but they have looked very impressive with CSK. Is it Fleming working his magic. We cannot say it is Dhoni because Rahane played under Dhoni and cost India couple atlleast one T20 cup.

What is the batsman equivalent of a trundler? how? check his strike rate. it is 160. you cannot blame him for poor batting of others who struggled to bat at 100 SR. He didn't miss even a single ball like we saw with lot of bowlers who dished out full tosses in death. Credit to him.
vvvslaxman
On another ground some of these fours would have been sixes. Missed the boundary by inches.

That is the fallacy, finishers are forced to hit from ball one so anyone will have over 120 SR if they face 10 plus deliveries. So 160 SR is not a big deal which you can get by squeezing in couple of boundaries .

putrevus
Ability to clear boundary is very important in t20s. Most of the Indian finishers lack that skill.
Texan
Yet another small chase getting screwed by this mentality of being too conservative in stroke play. High time teams start approaching small targets aggressively like they would do for say a target of 170-180.

That's why test matches in the past were mostly boring draws To Sunny's credit, he did lead India to the word series championship in 1985. He even dropped himself down the order, and after the tournament gave up the captaincy. Maybe should have continued till 1987 as we were stuck with the formulaic captaincy of Kapil. putrevus
12 runs to get with wickets in hand in last over, batting side should win the match unless they screw it up which they did today.

They screwed it up to that point by top and Mo.. With Nortje bowling it was always going to be tricky. They sent Klassen far too late. Also Tripathi did not create any tempo. Chasing 12 an over for last 5 overs onnthisbgeound is tough.

Sundar could not put bat on ball.Nor he had power to clear ropes. He made Mukesh's bowling better than it acutally was, 5 runs in last over that is completely on the finisher?
