Broad is still a big match winner for Eng although he is nearly 37.

in these conditions even Andu would have run riot.

Or Bhuvi for that matter

Bhuvi:laugh:.   He is a non turning spinner these days.

in these conditions he's still effective.

Wanted to see bazball against australian bowlers in helpful conditions but somehow they always get better batting condition with clear sky and sun out.

It is not a greentop by any means. It has bounce but not much swing, Bhuvi hardly did anything in those conditions.

Nah Boobie bowls short of length most of the times these days.  He couldn't do jack on a wet Manchester pitch in WC19 Semi...  When Kiwis generated so much movement with new ball.

His swing is overrated.  2014-2017 Bhuvi would be a treat though...  He was a genuine swing bowler back then.

he was never good in ODIs. Bowls defensive lengths and batsmen see him through.

In Tests with red ball though he can be relentless on such pitch. Remember Joburg 2018.

Anyway point was about the pitch. Lets not get into these details :P

You can not predict that, especially weather. Oval 2021 it was green but got flatter assisted spin on last day.

Oval was hot and Sunny throughout the game. And it was late English Summer...we were well into September.

Here it's supposed to rain for 3 days so it makes no sense to play a specialist spinner who's a genuine no.11 with the bat too.

The weather is not predictable in England

Even then, Murphy can play a holding role and bowl long spells. Eng have lot of lefties too.

Anyway they got enough pacers.
