I would go jaiswal but it won't go well with the faction of oldies. Jaiswal has that aura about him. I am convinced he will be special. Sundar is too soft. Pant would be good but obviously injured.

Iyer I guess is good but he isnt a good batsman which sucks.

Too early. Jaiswal has to establish himself first.  Without knowing what he will bring to the table as captain we can't risk it. He was not even under-19 captain for us. Shreyas Iyer is a viable choice. He has this calm demeanor. Again he has to establish himself as a batsman.

If you give same amount of chances to anyone else they will also eventually rack up a 50 somewhere. Dodda Ganesh's tweet is still stuck in my memory.

"Even a tail-ender can get a 50 once in 15-20 innings" - Dodda Ganesh slams team management for backing Ajinkya Rahane

kohli pujara are averaging 28-30 range since 2019, not a small sample size. most domestic batsman averaging 45+ will do better than that if they get as many changes as these guys got.

Bazball has so far no consequences. First time you will see English team getting a load from media should they lose this one. I expect England to fight very hard to win this. This is a do or die match for them.

bazball works in flat condition provided you have an effective bowling line up for flat conditions.

Iyer is mentally strong. Will be very good in spin conditions.

If he can learn to manage short ball, he's a good option.

I mean few weeks back Media was going gaga over bazball and telling everyone how Test should be played. Now that Ashes is on the line things will get ugly. So far England team managed to divert the attention away from 2 losses by talking about spirit of cricket. One more loss. They won't be so kind.

England not giving its bowlers enough time to rest is causing all these injuries.

They batted 50 overs lol That is like playing 2 one dayers back to back.

Sanga had a beautiful simple technique with so few moving parts.

His point about Labu's hands is very interesting.

For an Asian commentator, I like Sanga. He explain well with good delivery and does not shout when excited or something exciting happens on the pitch.

Australians bat time even if they go slowly. It gives enough time for their bowlers to take rest.

Precisely this. That us exactly why we lost in SA. And why we lost the last test. We only lasted 40 odd overs to 50 odd. Has the batsmen actually had the ability to grind a bit longer. Not even scoreline. If they scored the same 379 by taking their time a bit and draining the energy out of England, we had that game in the bag.

You need to fatigue your opponents.

We failed there.
