After all these talks, Ashwin will be picked in our tour to SA again and then will be decimated.
I have seen this script unfold many times

You should have played him in ENgland. They do the opposite. Sitting him out in SA and playing in ENgland makes much more sense. So whoever wrote this script is stupid

Maybe not in Lords or other grasslands, but Oval?  For sure.

Edgbaston where he took 7fer in the solitary match. Remember that two exactly identical dismissals of Alistair cook. Coincidentally India played their 5th test at Edgbaston against England.

What was he doing when Sam Curran batted India out of the match with 63 in the same match. Ashwin could not get Sam Curran out and you expect him to get Steve Smith and Head.

When India plays in Australia next time, Ashwin will get chance again.

Oval assists spinners more than what Austrlaian pitches do. Infact Australian pitches are graveyard for finger spinners from overseas.  So his match up against Australia will still be good.   England is a neutral ground for Australia as well. It is not like they are familiar with conditions.

This forum is filled with complete fan boys and regionalism bias.

Ashwin is a A level loser who is way past his prime.

And to make matters worse he lacks professionalism and looks to back stab people all the time.

This is not new - he did the same during Kohli's tenure too.

As a Captain I would never want a complain master like Ashwin who doesn't back up his bluster with results.

No wonder he keeps getting dropped and DESERVES to be dropped.

Lyon out-performed him so many times overseas. And to make matters worse Monty Panesar out-performed him in India in his primem.

Yet there are a bunch of posters coming in to bring back a proven has-been - only because he keeps posting "intelligent gripes" about how everyone is against him.

Such posters should be ashamed of themselves. Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Suyash and so many other wrist spinners are like Tewatia are getting ZERO chances to prove themselves because of Ashwin's "experience".

Even the bilaterals we won was due to KulCha never because of Ashwin.

Indian cricket will never progress forward when youngsters are not given ample chances and oldies play to 38 years old.

Australia dropped Stuart McGill in his prime who was a beast legspinner as they had Warne and wanted to play Andrew Symonds as an all-rounder who can bowl off-spin/medium pace.

Yet, India cannot drop Ashwin, Axar, Jadeja type non-threatening bowlers to make way for Kuldeep Yadav who is a much better bowler and wicket taker than all of the 3.

Indian cricket will be in deep decline in the next 2 years as all the oldies retire all at once. Then we will see the true damage of the absolute foolish planning of keeping oldies until World Cup.

there was also the well known series when moeen ali, who was slightly above part-timer level at that stage, outperformed him.

Forum has few biased analysts with tunnel vision. They do not evaluate conditions, situations, opposition strength an project players randomly. Hey  back to back WTC cycle highest wicekt taker for India, currently world no.1 is supposed to be "way past prime".  I am sure dozens of cricketers who were miffed about it have regional bias. Including non-Indian cricketers. Everyone has to blindly agree :)

Selective bias means nothing.

The choice was always Ashwin vs. Thakur and NOT Umesh vs. Ashwin.

The fake gurus like you on this board will never understand as we got decimated every time we played Jadeja and Ashwin in England.

Thakur has done more for India in SENA than Ashwin can dream of in his entire career.

Umesh had a bad game but he is a workhorse that can bowl without tiring.

Funny how Ashwin would have changed the game but no blame on batsman who failed?

Poor Umesh gets blamed for one bad game but not the same yardstick on Rohit, Kohli, Gill, Pujara?

Pathetic fans like you is where the problem is. KS Bharat had one bad game and now he will be removed.

But Ashwin has to come back because Umesh had one bad game.

Forgetting the fact that under Ashwin we never made strong impact in SENA. If he was such a matchwinner, TM would have dropped Jadeja or Thakur for him.

Ashwin is way past his prime and has the ego as if he is the best thing since sliced bread. Anyone with common sense knows that he doesn't have the temperament to win matches as he constantly gripes about something or another.

When KulCha were destroying everyone for 2 years until they got found out, no one missed Ashwin then? His career was a goner.

Suddenly Kuldeep gets injured and then we go back to Ashwin as if he's the only spinner in whole of India.

This selective bias is what I am talking about. Ashwin is NOT a match winner. He is no different than Rohit Sharma, Dhawan and KL who are bilateral bullies with stat padding but toothless in pressure situations.

Winners win and losers whine. Ashwin fits the picture perfectly with his constant whining.

At least Gambhir with all his ego won India games in crucial situations, Ashwin is the exact opposite.

But for Ashwin's contribution when we were 74/7 INdia would not have been in the final. But for his batting partnership with Axar we would have lost that Test as well against Australia and would not have made it to final. He didn't really have to contribute with bat. But he did anyway.  He took out Smith 3 times in Australia which played a role in winning the match.  Ungrateful fans deserve every humiliation.

Axar Patel cleaned up England and won MoS in India too.

Thakur saved India multiple times in Australia.

Bumrah and Shami won a test with their batting in ENG.

These were recent.

Ashwin didn't do anything that Kuldeep wouldn't have done.

Ashwin never won a single series in ENG or SA.

In Australia, even Sundar won a game with his batting.

It's not about being ungrateful, it's about stat padding nonsense.

Do you really believe 2021 series in AUS was won because of Ashwin and not because of Pant, Thakur, Sundar and Rahane?

Seriously?

2021 series Ashwin didn't play full series. But he did play a role in drawing a test.  It is always sum of parts. You act like he is doing nothing.  Combination of several aspects helped us win that series. In these parts nobody is going to run through side singlehandedly. That too spinners. Which seamer has won tests singlehandedly overseas besides Bumrah in Windies?  It was always a combination of  Bumrah/Ishant and in some places Shami/Siraj.

Lyon literally bowled everything outside the leg stump and turned it away from the stumps mostly. Even Aussie commies in several series talked about how Lyon doesn't want to get hit for boundaries. So he has very defensive field set and bowls defensively mostly.  He doesn't even play limited over games. Exclusive test player as he doesn't have to worry about switching format. Still average over 31 in bowling firendly era.
