That was a different team with an extremely archaic ideology. They didnt know what they were doing, preparing absolute flatties and then going at 2.5 RPO, relying on a poor spin attack when clearly the pace depth is superior even if it is not conditioned & prepared for test workloads.

 

this new mansgement though has instilled some freshness which is reflected in the style of play and run rates. I feel the batting is good enough now. There is still Huraira there who has not yet been introduced who was racking daddy hundreds like no other pak batsman in recent memory in the last two domestic seasons. Once he replaces Shan, I feel this will be an all round world class batting unit atleast in asian conditions. 

 

The bowling though needs conditioning for test workloads.

While the personel is there, because we hardly play any test cricket our bowlers are never attuned to it. Just take an example of Naseem. He always does poorly in the first test of a series but then improves in the next one. By the time he is prepared, the test season is already over.

 

Can attribute a lot of this to ramiz. Among a host of other things, his FTP negotiations were terrible. We have no home test season this year and no odis next year for example. Proper retard.

Younis was a fiesty batsman who was great vs spin. 

Abdullah is rather shy in that regard and more fluent vs pace than spin. Different kinds of players. Can liken him to yousuf in that both were good technicians of batting although the latter was more natural

This outswing to the right handers is a recent development from shaheen. 
He mainly bowled inswing and the natural left arm

angle but this should make him even deadlier with the new ball.

Not always true. Naseem skips a lot of Test matches and doesn't play a whole lot of FC cricket either. He can build his workload by playing QEA if he so wished but he has only played 14 first-class games since his debut.

You are misinformed about him skipping tests. He has never done that. That doesnt work in pakistan. The last guy who tried doing it lost the dressing room's favour and ultimately took retirement from all formats (Amir)

 

Naseem last year after the first test vs england got injured owing to poor conditioning which was the result of a long t20 season which included an Asia cup, a 7 match t20 series vs england and then the world cup which all clashed with the Quaid trophy.

He then didnt feature until the 2nd test vs nz in that season after proving his fitness in a list A game and bowled pretty well dismisding latham, williamson with reverse on a backbreakingly flat karachi track. 

Most of those FC games came before he debuted. 

How will you play FC games when you are on the road all the time with the team playing every format?

 

As I said, we had a horrible management that had no planning on how to play test cricket and manage/prepare resources. Just take a look at the pitches last year or the FTP decided by Ramiz. 

Things were remarkably different under Wasim khan who prioritized tests.

He featured in the first Test against England. I wasn't implying that he was skipping voluntarily. He is quite prone to niggles - much more so than, say, someone like Shaheen is. Not sure if it's the action or his body type etc. For someone who has been in the PCB system for 6 years, it appears, at least from the outside, that he will have to choose formats sooner than later. I don't think he will be able to sustain all 3 formats + leagues.

Dude came around late 2019 and debuted in 2020. He may have age fudged by 2,3 years but it doesnt make him as old as you think. Stop exaggerating to support your narrative. 

Yes his action is not alligned perfectly so niggles and aches will be there, but inspite of that he is fairly durable, much more than what I expected.

 

And judging by his pychological profile, I dont think he will pick formats. These pathan bowlers dont seem to have such tendencies especially given all of them look up to Shaheen who gives great importance to test cricket and is concerned about his legacy. 

Yes, had they been playing with Amir, Wahab as lead pacers then yes, but Shaheen actually looks up to Imran as his role model cricketer, so the mindset/culture set by him is a lot different.
