Kishan did well okay in 2 or 3 ODIs. Gill definitely has technical weakness he needs to iron out. Jaiswal is another guy. Ruturaj is one more person. If you give enough chance they will show promise. Rinku is not even picked despite showing great finishing skills. You need a solid finisher in T20 to pull off magical finishes. India had zero finisher in this line up. Almost all of them or middle order guys.

So now Gill who has hardly played 50 t20s is done?

He is best of the lot .

What is Pandya role in the team if not being finisher?

Pandya is a bits and piece player. He stoped being a finisher long back. There is a reason why India kept going back to DK as they had no finisher. Now that DK is gone instead of addressing the finisher issue they keep filling the spots randomly.  Rinku, Jitesh, Jhurel all 3 showed some promise. One of them should have been here.

But he is supposed to lead the new age team according to many experts here.

Pandya should be first name on the team according to many people here.

it would have been better to have rinku. we would need another AR, in place of samson to have 6 bowlers

Also India needs positive openers.  Phattu approach in the first 6 overs also played a role. Pitch became progressively worse. With fields spread scoring almost became too difficult for these guys.  If India scored 50 in the first 6 overs with just 2 fielder outside the circle instead of 36 they would have been ahead of the game. Jaiswal should be tried out.

It is so wonderful to see the booming talents who were not getting chances to finally show case their great talents.

Now Gill after playing just 6 t20s has now become old news.

I don't expect anything different from our stalwarts. We saw how Kohli played against Adil Rashid in WT20.   9 balls 9 runs against him. 8 balls 14 runs against livingstone.  So 17 balls 23 runs against 2 leg spinners one part time on a belter of a wicket.

Deepak chahar and Shardul Thakur kind of batsmen have to bat down the order.  Mukesh, Arshdeep, Kuldeep, Chahal totally useless.

Are neither of them in the squad?

He and Rohit are done move on from them. what I am amused many people like you  are turning Gill who played 6 t20s into old news.

That is what is most amazing thing.
