I think Kishan is 100% there according to TM as a back up keeper or opener. 

If Kela is fit he walks in as first choice keeper according to TM. 

sky is being backed as finisher...  As Pandu & Jaddu cannot provide finishing kick. 

Samson v Tilak is the only debate...  And no surprise if Tilak walks over him & even lands a spot in XI.

I don't think Rahul has place in the team for both Asia cup and World cup  if he is not WK. With his injury can he keep?

 

Both Rohit and Kohli have to be flexible in their batting spots.

 

Let Ishan and Gill open then depending on the situation either Kohli or Rohit can bat.

KL's keeping in 50 overs isnt great. I would take Samson/Kishan ahead of him.

 

Not to mention that part time keeper can prove disastrous in the bigger tournaments, one mistake in the pressure game (which KL will 200% do in plenty) and it's all gone.

I agree but if he is not keeping , they are wasting a spot on him. He does not have any other value.There is no need for KL Rahul in any format for India.

 

There is no other justification for Rahul to be in the squad.

Trust me. He will play if he is fit. He has very good numbers as a MO batsman due to his Bilateral numbers.  Given that Iyer is certain to miss out they will go back to him. Also India has not tested enough palyers sufficiently long enough. Samson has gone off the boil. Rinku not tested. Tilak not tested.  TINA factor will kick in.  Dravid will give some lame excuse "KL Rahul can bat anywhere"

We can then say goodbye to any chance India has in winning if this bozo plays purely as batsman. I rather have Tilak over this guy anyday as a batsman.

 

Rahul the batsman has zero value to any Indian team in any format.

He shouldn't be in the squad. He is another DK who will just eat up the spot and then flop at the wrong time, if this TM had any brains they should have left him after last year T20 WC as well. 

 

I would still take Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson over him. Atleast they will try to be courageous...KLR will carry the defeated and humiliated look all throughout the match.

I think SKY will get in, his form might be iffy in ODI's but his ability to play at high SR will allow Kohli, Gill and Rohit to "get their eye in". One of Kishan/KL will play as keeper.

Spot on.That is why I am so pissed off at Dravid, they had a chance against England if they let Pant open and gave him license to hit, everyone including KL Rahul  (except Dravid and Rohit) knew he will flop if he opened against England.

Jaiswal is a opener spot which is already crowded...  Tilak has more chance.  No one is talking about Jaiswal yet.  Not playing him in ODIs has safeguarded Rohit Kohli Gill

I can understand getting 10 or 12 overs from Pandya/Jadeja + someone like Verma. 

 

When you count on 20 overs from Pandya/Jadeja + someone like Verma with only three regular bowlers being Bumrah/Siraj/Kuldeep.... you are badly exposed. This will not work.

Gill at 3 and Kohli at 4 is a possibility.
