Crowd is just fine. And Indian fans aren't obliged to fill the stadium just to prove it is cricket crazy nation. The crowd for ODI format is good enough. And these Aussie-England fans and media can rant about it, nobody cares.

The bigger problem is why foreigners aren't travelling to India to watch their home team playing..

because they had no time to make arrangements

BCCI messed up, must admit our mistakes. The hockey world cup earlier this year was very well organized and tickets were easy to get, schedule in advance etc. Know that cricket WC is on a larger scale because of number of venues and attendance but still hockey federation isn't financially that well off.

But must also say Indians aren't obliged to fill seats in neutral games. BBC loves to have a whine about India.

yup.. they will be perfectly fine to go to which ever middle eastern country and go through shitty conditions and crowds. But if it’s India oh it’s so much of a trouble, the food the people the lack of facilities. Fcuk them. Don’t care about it, I can assure you west is not that better.

If I am struggling to plan for matches while staying in India only, how will a foreigner plan for matches from other countries?

More than BCCI as a whole, the president in particular

BBC is run by rabid pakistanis who hate India. This is the highest attended wc in history, nothing is wrong with the game or the way the wc is being run. Yes ticketing and ground facilities can always improve in India.

no this tournament is run absolutely terribly. It is the biggest show of BCCI degeneracy and decadence I've personally seen. They just figured it would make enough money on broadcast rights because its in india and gave up on doing anything.

In a normal world cup the schedule and tickets are all on sale for close to a year before the event. You go online, buy a ticket, they email you the ticket. Done.

Not

not even a schedule until 6 weeks before

tickets being sold like it's a taylor swift concert and are released in a giant batch with the website crashing from all the traffic

half the tickets being stolen by corrupt officials and given to friends who don't even go

you have to PHYSICALLY go into the stadium to pick up the tickets before the game

run down stadiums and massive sweeping bans on random stuff like water bottles

the stadiums being caged like you're an animal

tickets never arriving

being told you have to pick up tickets in another office in a different city

every system being different depending on each stadium

It is utter insanity and of course nobody is going to spend thousands of dollars flying in when there is a large chance they wont even get into the game because of how terribly the tournament is being run.

Gross mismanagement by BCCI, releasing some tickets on matchday itself...and please stop feckin defending the BCCI here just because BBC published an article criticising the attendance. It's completely legitimate, don't know why some people like to equate that to a fall sense of nationalism whenever such articles come out.

Tickets milte nahin phir bolo why people are not attending

Yup first no tickets .. lol then people not attending due to bad service. Then dont attend. And no indians everywhere wont attent any random game, they need to have disposable money and time to splurge on a cricket game. The moment some gora saheb writes an opinion in some new york times lol all our brown sahebs want to be holier than the queen ( now dirty granpa sorry). :giggle:
