But it might also force USA to stop India from taking advantage of Pak's eastern front weakness to retake PoK. It shouldn't stop India from larger surgical strikes to take out terror camps

A drawn out conflict definitely favors Iran. Pakistan may have more muscle in Infantry & air power but they have limitations. They can't move everything on western side keeping India in mind & leave Kashmir virtually undefended. If it comes to that it will be first time ever Kashmir sector of Pakistan which is most heavily defended will be ripe for picking since Independence. India should keenly look at the developments If fanatic mullah regime of Iran decides to go for it, all bets are off. Could be once in a liftetime opportunity to salami slice PoK.. India needs to start thinking like European countries and aim for very HDI (though unlikely with the way things are).
