I would love if there is mini contest between them in IPL. Tyagi and Umran should play consistently Mayank is comfortably more well put together than either tyagi (line issues) or umran (length issues) at the moment raki05, singhvivek141, tapandrun and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Even if a bowler is short and able to crank up 150+ kmph that's not easy to handle. And always a great batter in their prime will be able to handle any kind of pace. But not all batters great against pace. 9 minutes ago, Lord said: Umran can be skiddy bowler who specialises in yorkers. Did really well last season. Mayank and Tyagi look more complete. And learn a bit of seam movement. singhvivek141, tapandrun, raki05 and 3 others 6 Link to comment

Gollum
Indians in general don't understand sports. Cricket (fast bowling) is just a subset. These SM skeptics unfortunately are majority. If these young quicks don't get their due in India I hope they emigrate to Aus, Eng. rollingstoned, Lone Wolf, Vijy and 2 others 3 2 Link to comment

Vijy
Just wait for the inevitable ICFers (I don't need to name them) who will come out of the woodwork and start rambling about how pace is not needed, test cricket is all about trundling with line-and-length, that mayank (or whoever) is not int'l class, to bookmark their posts, etc. singhvivek141, Mosher, Nikhil_cric and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Many don't understand much of many other things too, not just sports. Look at nutrition, exercise, etc. for instance: not referring to sportspeople here, but even the way laypersons approach their diets Gollum, raki05 and singhvivek141 3 Link to comment

Lone Wolf
This should hopefully lit a fire under Umran's belly... And Kartik Tyagi as well. Work hard. For Umran I'd like to see SRH giving him more confidence. He should not try and copy Mayank's lengths coz that would be fatal.... Just full fast and at the stumps. Pack the field in front of the V and witness magic. Mayank's next game at Chinnaswamy.... Vijy
mayank's traits would have been a treat to watch in 80s/90s pitches of SA, Oz, and WI. he would have been a handful on the old perth or sabina park pitches, for instance. raki05 1 Link to comment

Vijy
IIRC, umran's 157 (or even 156) did not come in first game of the season. if mayank stays injury free, plays some more games to get into rhythm, and encounters a reasonably quick pitch, he could get close to 160 IMO. raki05 1 Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Touchwood he gets to play all remaining games & hopefully LSG qualifies for Playoffs.... Boy we need someone like him in Indian team. No need to get carried away... But my goodness adrenaline is super high right now. That Umran spell in 2022 vs GT was the last time I had this rush raki05, rollingstoned, Mosher and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Yes Indeed... Hopefully he goes full fast in Chinnaswamy... May clock 158kph on a yorker or 160 on a full toss. Vijy, express bowling, raki05 and 1 other 4 Link to comment

I'm not sure if he could click mid/high 150s like Mayank Or Umran. But hey he doesn't need to. With the kind of bounce he generates bowling in 140s and breaching the 150 mark every now and then, he can be lethal in SA & Aus. But yeah I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong as far his pace is concerned. raki05 and Vijy 2 Link to comment
