Great photos.

I was in Stavanger, Norway for the Norway - Brazil game. Didn't plan it that way, it just happened.

Stavanger is near the town where Haaland was born. This dude is a real life viking.

I'm not really into football and I totally got behind Norway. The crowd + atmosphere was top notch.

Had to look up who Haaland was.

In 2017 we made a trip to Norway. Flew to Oslo and took a connecting flight to Tromso.

Spent two nights chasing the 'Northern Lights' in the 'season'. Was totally disoriented. Sunset at Tromso was at 10pm and there wasn't enough night. Sadly we didn't get a sighting. Lack of sleep + disorientation = completely irritable at all times. Not the best of my experiences.

Bummer.

The whole midnight sun/northern lights experience is weather dependant. If there is cloud cover, it's a flop show.

I spent some time in Bergen. At 2 AM in the morning, the light from the sun alone was bright enough to read a book. At 4 AM, the sun started to rise.

Norway cost a bit of coin but I'd go back there in a heartbeat. I've never seen landscapes like that.

Going to Oslo and Kristansand in a few weeks. Largely a business trip with few open time slots. Any suggestions?

Yup, a few recommendations.

Do the free walking tour in Oslo - https://freetouroslo.com/

Take the scenic train from Oslo to Bergen. Definitely worth it - https://www.vy.no/en/train/routes/the-bergen-line

Do the 'Norway in a nutshell' - https://fiftydegreesnorth.com/au/info-centre/norway-in-a-nutshell

All cities have lost that charm man.

I mean, they aren't the cities anymore which we grew up in and had memories.

I did my engg in Bhopal, went there in last Dec for a get together. All those roads which were full of trees from either side are now turned into flyovers. Those grounds were we used to play cricket & learnt bike riding stunts are now metro train yards.
