I would still take Rohit over Gill in T20s. He's our best six hitter against quality pacers, does better in Internationals than in IPL.

Kohli  4037 runs at 51.25 with SR of 138.15

Sanju   374 runs at 18.75 with  SR of 133.09

 

 

 

Hopefully both Kohli and Samson play and we will see who does better in the Windies.

When Rinku played Aus in India he had scores of 22*, 33*,  DNB,  46, 6

 

For 46 the Aus attack was Aaron Hardie, Behrendorff, Dwarshius, Chris Green, Tanveer Sangha and Matthew Short.

 

For 33* the Aus attack was Stoinis, Ellis(3 wkts), Maxwell, Sean Abbott, Zampa, Sangha.

 

This on Indian pitches.

 

On Windies pitches.......We will find out that  Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins, Cameron Green, Zampa plus  Maxwell, Marsh, Head  will be a different proposition.

But, in T20Is, Rinku has nothing to suggest that he cannot play the big guys. Whenever he has got an opportunity, he has delivered. The 22*, 33*, 46 etc. may look worse than a  "century", but in terms of what is asked of him, they are invaluable scores.

 

Coming in at 6 or 7, he is not going to average 50. His SR should > 150, which it is. Do we have anyone who can fill that role more effectively than he can? I don't see it. And part of the reason for that? The team is packed with some low SR individuals packed at the top.

 

At least VK has shown signs of being able to up the scoring pace in PP. Hope he keeps it up against Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins etc.

Apart from Kuldeep, Bumrah and to some extent Kohli no other player seems to be in convincing form or fitness  anyways

 

You can pretty much empty  out the entire Indian options, every one is interchangeable with each other. Thats the harsh truth. That’s why best bet is to hope the ones who have been picked deliver a fluke or above their form to get us through.

Rahane and Pujara won't do the trick..

 

Let us see if Jaiswal, SKY, Dube and Samson do so.... hopefully Rinku makes it too into the side somehow.

 

But if they don't - some of us will give them the same brickbats that most give Rahane and Pujara.
