It started at around 3pm local time and it was cold and windy. I had seats which were quite far away. It was still a great experience. Paris as such is scam. At this age he should learn from Federer and start skipping these slow as molasses surfaces. Focus all energies on the other 3 slams, ATP Finals and Cinci, Shanghai, maybe Paris. Real McCoy 1
Gollum Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Ok Nole won, but at what cost. Draw from hell, Ruud in QF, then Zverev/Rune/Minaur/Medvedev in SF. Alcaraz/Sinner in the other half. Even if he makes a deep run here, he won't recover by the time Wimbledon starts, his best chance of #25 is over there, not in this mud.

Yeah but Nole just like Roger doesn't quit. It took Rafa and Novak to make Roger take the tough decision. He also didn't want his grass prep disturbed. With Nole, he is the reigning champion. It will take more for him to quit playing dirt season. 2 5 setters back to back with the first one almost into the early morning of yesterday. I don't see Nole winning this one. It must be Alcaraz/Sinner/Zverev

It must have been a marketing gimmick to fool foreigners into coming there for overpriced trips, food and drink. I figured it would be underwhelming just like your on court experience. Gollum 1

My mother wanted to see a game and we were in Paris. So got the tickets for the Novak game. Even their official ticketing site is a scam. If continental Europe complains about england, I guess their weather must be even worse. There is a saying in western europe that europeans live for the few months of summer as the rest of the time its misearable. Some of them like to hang out in the winter months in south east asia and latin america. I assume the ticketing system has been a scam for a long time. We got these sports from europe. I also think they were the original scammers. Our ticketing "system" may be a copy of the english system of scamming. Nole has already won RG thrice , he should have played a couple of clay tourneys for baseline practice and put all efforts for Wimbledon. Maybe his Olympics obsession made him do this, lack of an Olympic medal has done him emotional damage. He has achieved everything in this sport but Olympic success. He was an emotional mess in Tokyo as well.

cowboysfan Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Womens tennis unwatchable.Its not about who is good and who can hit winners,its about who can make the least unforced errors.The no 1 seed barely broke a sweat,all she did was hit the ball back in play and Gauff will hit an unforced error.

If you go by Courier's logic, yes. "Playing on clay heals any niggle in the legs" . Even though Courier is speaking as an expert, he may have his own biases. There are plenty of guys who did better at wimbledon without grinding in clay. Even Federer did quite well in the previous few years since his renaissance in 2017. Sampras also sucked at clay ad usually skipped most of the tourneys and only played RG. He was almost undefeatable at wimbledon

I stopped watching it when the willaims sisters came into the fray. There was a charm to watching tennis in the 90s. Its not the same anymore.
