vvvslaxman Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 This world T20 had another goal in their mind which was to expand cricket. USA's qualification definitely was one of the biggest plus. It got the eye balls. Even white house had something to say about it. With MLC having a bit of success this will be a major boost. Some small teams already showed they can compete in the right conditions. T20 cricket can go soccer style. It is still a niche sports. But there are some encouraging signs.
Ultimate_Game Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I enjoyed the tourney! The games were not batathons, and were quiet close except for the ones involving Uganda and PNG. There were upsets and quiet a few performances from underdogs. From selfish perspective, India won! Beat padosis as usual and this time from a losing position. Knocked off Aus and Eng, which was satisfying. And won the final against SA when the match was almost over. Couldn't have asked for anything more as an Indian fan!
Nikhil_cric Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Horrible pitches at NY and the first semifinal at Tarouba but not a peep from ICC. It had some good matches and a great final. Nothing compared to 2023 World Cup though. Would have been the greatest ever had we won it but it was just a really good tournament regardless. Lord 1
BacktoCricaddict Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 The league stages were boring. From Super 8 onwards, it was an excellent WC.

R!TTER Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Better than 23 ODI one, no dew factor as well neel roy and Ultimate_Game 2

If only all the finals we played were day games we would have won a lot more. 2019 world cup semi final was not a ODI it was TDI. That was a farce. Rain and dew have buried us massively. ONly 2017 final was exception as we won the toss decided to lose. Edited July 1, 2024 by vvvslaxman Ultimate_Game 1
cricketfan28 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Can't say the best but definitely better than this year's ipl.
Sandz Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 The best one since 2011, all others in between were ****. 2023 was the worst.
Gollum Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 USA beating Pak made it 9/10 BD and Aus getting kicked out same day 10/10 After the final, best since 2011.
Master_better Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 "We didn't want to reach the final because we had nothing to gain from it," said Nazmul Klanto, "We're getting bonuses just by beating Nepal, Sri Lanka and Nederlands. Why bother winning any more matches unnecessarily? But with Vadapav Sharma and King Chokli retiring, we look forward to winning the world cup if that's what it takes for Bepshayi and Mamadolla to retire. Next world cup, this team is gonna play their best cricket because it's the retirement of parasites at stake!" Lord and vvvslaxman 2
