Sad if true. One of the most underrated performers for India, and one of the best pacers.

Our greatest World Cup bowler. Greater than Bumrah.

He is the model of the type fast bowlers we need to develop going forward.  I hope he goes into coaching

And it's a pity that Kohli dropped him in 2017 CT final and 2019 WC SF. Our best bowlers wasn't backed by that buffoon. Didn't show up with the bat in big matches and picked poor teams as well by picking likes of Chahal over Shami.

And that's what I couldn't ever understand. He apparently backed fast bowlers and he's the one who selected 2 spinners in WTC final when it was raining & seaming with NZ going in with 0 spinners. Or picking 2 spinners again at Lord's against Eng which again was surplus to requirements. And then dropping Shami for key games in LOIs in favor of proven failure like Chahal.

I can't get a handle on the man. It looks like he loses his mind cometh the knockouts. I can understand failing as a batsman as not too many can handle pressure. But surely he shouldn't have blundered selecting a team as much as he did. I can't still comprehend how Shami could've been kept out of 2019 WC SF when Shami was averaging 3 wkts per game in the tourney. Or for picking 2 spinners in the WTC final against NZ. Or even for chasing in CT 2017 final against Pak on a patta knowing fully well Pak are minnows at chasing a decent total.

This shows that Kohli implodes mentally in high pressure knockouts, and sort of explains why he struggles as a batsman in big matches. If his team selections are all over the place, it shows your thinking and mental process.

In Tests, yes. He did backed Umesh a lot, while the great legendary Mahendar babu will treat him like a doormat.

In ODI's, it was an entire different game. Maybe he was too much influenced by the defensive captaincy of MSD.

I have seen Shami go through the same drill plenty of times, people think he is finished and then he comes up with a spectacular performance when he returns.

He is gonna smash it in CT 2025 (if we play)

The only reason I don't support him outrightly is because people with ugly faces rarely make a good cricketer. His face is very ugly.
