Sat-chi doubtful seeing their next two games. Same with Nikhat and Lovlina unfortunately.

why doubtful?

sat-chi qf opponent sat chi superior.

won last 3 in straight sets.

dont go by h2h. that was when sat-chi were way younger.

The current Malaysian pair they face today is very strong. After them is the Chinese pair that beat them this year in the Thomas cup - pretty badly too even though they won one game. Also having seen their first couple of games - they are not looking like the Sat-Chi of last year or the year before. Too many unforced errors and too defensive.

10 ho gaye toh sab badhiya. Then we'll have to maintain 10-20 in next 2-3 Games, and win more golds.

this malaysian pair has lost to sat-chi in last 3 consecutive games, all in 2 sets.

if sat-chi win this, 2 chances at medal.

and sat-chi def the chinese pair in asian games final.

Also from a coverage perspective - I think Sony did a far better job. Jio has sucked till now. Under Sony you could watch events by sports - here it's their choice what they want to show and the coverage has been pretty poor.

You can watch all the events by Sports in Jiocinema as well. Click on Olympics instead of India at Olympics and you will get all the sports there.

In fact, our best badminton bet IMO is Lakshya. His attitude reminds me a lot of Tzai Tzu of Taipei. Mercurial and amazing to watch

thing about lakshya is he is 22, the age when players start their rise. maybe this will be his rise.

chen long and axelsen won their first bronzes in 12, 16 at 22-23 respectively.

kunlavuta and li shi feng are two others of lakshya's contemporaries though

How does improving the number of jobs - even if it is paid at local levels a bad thing? Not everything has to become a franchise-based system. Do you know how many ppl get employed in universities in the US to just take care of athletes - even the less popular sports? Not to mention ground staff, scouts, analysts, journalists, etc.

Their universities are tied to the western aspirations, then there are lots of foreign students who help fund them.

We have a completely different system, our workers are generally less skilled/educated and older .These people are risk averse and also lack that type of mentality.

same mistake you are making.

you are assuming it will remain the same.

it is not a race/culture issue but a poverty issue.

indian aspirations/mentality will change with wealth.

Yes, for this Olympics I am very much looking at medals count not as much gold count. Medal count is the true progress for this time.

Akshdeep Singh left the race after 6 km in the 20 km mens walk. He was provided Olympic funding. Provided foreign training and was in high performance centres I guess. He came flying business class. Was given a good per diem and Olympics kit bag with souvenirs. He roamed around Paris walking and smiling. Ate from restaurants and Olympics village. Took selfies. Did everything. When the race started after 6 kms he was 49 out of 49 contestants . Then he decided to drop off. Feel sad for him. Raat ko so ya nahi tha acchi tarah bechara lagta hai. Garmi hai thoda sach main. Koi nahi Los Angeles 2028 hai na. Olympics funding bhi hai bahat. Usme 12 km chal lena. Deepika Didi bhi hoga advice karne ke liye. O haan Photo post karna mat bhoolna Paris ka..

Interesting reactions on this from Americans.

Most saying it is a clear case of drug cheating by China as they are notorious for it. Commenting that nobody beats the no. 2 by a margin of well over 1 seconds in 100 mtr freestyle and nobody smashed WR by .4 like that in a slow pool.

Like Americans Cubans and Russian poms and Aussies done abuse peds lol
