Amos Serem top medal contender out due to his stupidity.

Avinash now in medal contention.

10 runners have bested Sable's NR (PB) this year Be happy if he improves on his PB and finishes a creditable 6th or 7th in the final.

Sable has qualified ..top 5 qualify from the heat. He finished 5th.

He qualified comfortably in 5th place - 1.5 seconds before the 6th place finisher.

The sixth place in Sable's heat would have been first place in the first heat.

No point burning yourself out in the heats - the second heat was very very fast. Avinash conserved himself.

Yar in heat 1 everyone is slower than Sable (heat 2) , why so?

Top 5 qualify, so they were maybe matching pace of opponents in that heat. Why exert yourself more than required in a heat?

6th best in this race is like the rate determining step in chemistry, since top 5 make finals, 6th best in heat 2 must have been better today.

Finally some good news.

India breaks new ground, an Indian making it to final in this event will inspire so many. As such making finals in any track event is challenging for our bodies, and this race is highly specialized for North African bodies, Kenyans etc.

Apart from Neeraj and hockey team how many left from Indian contingent?

Among medal contenders, maybe one in wrestling. Mirabai in weightlifting.

I guess since all top 5 qualify and timing doesn't matter, it just depends how the leaders group controls the race.

Yaar time to dekho , it is something like

heat 2 toppers = 1-5 fastest finalists

heat 1 toppers = 6-10 fastest finalists

heat 3 toppers = 11-15 fastest finalists

Ok like swimming heats then.

I didn't really follow the other heats of this event, so just guessed.

Pretty damning revelations on the archery team if true. They're a bunch of divas.

""The seniors choose the coaches, who are not actually coaches but just people who carry water and kit for them" says one archery insider. "The seniors don't want to change, they feel they have achieved World Cups through their own efforts and there is a lot of resistance in the camps."

When foreign coaches are brought in, says another, "the seniors gang up against coaches who will push them and demand more." Should the coach try and make technical corrections working with the juniors, the seniors then complain that their technique is being spoiled and their scores going down. "They make it difficult", the source said, "for either new technical coaches to come in or for new coaches to be developed." The juniors then follow the same culture, which permeates down through the camps."

Ok so seniors probably had a bigger role in keeping that South Korean legend out.

They need to be made an example of.

In heat 2, 9 people run faster than heat 3 topper. @Number

Abhi se mere expectations bare minimum hai. Too many heartbreaks already.

Want a good hockey match tomorrow, don't get blown away.

Neeraj should qualify to final and not lose to that Pook.

Mirabai should complete at least one lift in both categories, so that it is recorded.

Just FYI - the semi finals 100m second fastest time was Jamaican Seville.

He ended up last in the finals - as he had nothing in the tank after the SF.

There were reports of diva like behavior of archers in 2012, 2016, 2021, and now. Any action taken, nope?

Instead they will be given padma awards for clearing R64 against Maldives, big plots of land, houses, group A jobs, 10 trips per year to USA and Europe.

If they win medal by mistake some day they will expect PM and President to bow and kiss their feet.

Or maybe others showed their true selves in the final.

That is why we have 40 year old guy in his 4th olympics doing nothing.

The best time in Heat 2 is 8.10

Sable's personal best is 8.09 something - I think he has to clock around 8.05 (doable) in final to medal.
