Thanks guys!! Sunil Taneja is awesome, passionate about sports and it shows. Man these Olympic are so much pressure to watch that many a time I have to mute the audio.

@Gollum mentioned about gora nations.... almost all the Olympic qualifiers are white nations umpires are going to be filled with them most times. Only thing at the moment which seems in our hands is to improve our game, but expect bad decisions frequently esp. at crucial stages. Hockey umpiring has been at par with boxing judging - THE worst thing about these sports. In wrestling thankfully, they can't cheat to this extent.

Noone will watch PC-dominated hockey. League like IPL is a pipe dream. Best is to change the rules to make it more free-flowing and encourage field goals and dribbling. Once that becomes popular and money rich, it can start influencing the FIH.

The only reason ppl are watching hockey (and I say ppl generously) is that it is a multi-sport event. Few follow hockey outside of these events. Asian games, CWG and Olympics is the only time ppl really care about hockey. Problem is the way the game is played. Too one-dimensional

India scores most goals from PC. Guys at the D keep aiming for the legs instead of the goal. Bad game killing strategy .

 

Eliminating PC is a double-edged sword.  It will then become like 1-0 game after 1.5 hrs of going back-n-forth

The laboratory detected results that didn’t match the eligibility criteria for IBA women’s events."

 

"The situation was completely new to boxing, and IBA, following numerous consultations, decided to conduct a second testing before disqualifying the boxers. However, the second testing could only be conducted in a neutral country and within the IBA competition period.

At the next IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships 2023 in New Delhi, Khelif and Lin were tested following their consent again before their first fights. Blood sample collection was made on 17 March 2023. Dr Lal PathLabs from New Delhi issued its report on 23 March 2023. The findings were absolutely identical to the first test results."

I used to be an ally of the LGBT movement until the Q and + got added on. Who cares what someone identifies themselves as? You are either male, female or trans... when did people get to choose what they could wish to be?

IBA is owned by Russians and made these tests after she defeated some Russian boxer. There's a reason why IOC severed ties with them

We should also target Indian Americans who have the natural advantage of growing up in those systems to represent India at these events. Interesting to note that the drug issues went away when she represented the US instead of Nigeria

I don't think Indian diaspora care that much about sports
