Tejinder Toor is the Asian champ and our NR holder in shot put - but his best is well behind the giants of US and NZ. 

 

Discus surprisingly we have noone. After Krishan Gowda we don't have anyone who is world class yet.

Both sides abuse the hell out of each other on various forums @Lone Wolf, more intense than Ashes. 

 

US media had been hyping yesterday's Titmus vs McIntosh vs Ledecky race as 'race of the century' for so long, Aussie girl won. Then the 4x100m freestle men relay where Americans edged past Aussies to win gold. Aussie women returned the favor.

Yes, 2 medals from 2 prospects is difficult. I counted 10 medals from 20+ prospects....I meant Jena is one of the main medal prospects in track n field. Better than Toor n Annu Rani. 4*400 men's are probably no. 3 medal prospect in track n field.

When it comes to violence and extremism RSS people are kindergarten compared Jihadis who are PHD holders. Now don't say all violence is equal. Massive difference between slapping someone and chopping one's head off. 

 

Every single extremist organization has started the same way, with claims of protection. Taliban started with aim to save Afghanistan but were funded by multiple countries. Nazis started with "defensive" agenda when Germans were feeling unsatisfied. LTTE started with fight for Tamil rights. 

 

The only way to stop these hate organizations is at the starting stage before they poison young mind with hatred. Once they reach a critical mass, the country is doomed

 

This is why those who love their country never want these organizations to ever get more power than they have currently and are extremely vary of them. Outside terrorists organization can do only little damage to our country and we are strong enough to fight back, whether its jihadis or ISIS or any other terrorists or Pakistani army from outside. But an inside org can destroy the entire country by poisoning young minds and spreading extremism.

 

Very few big countries in history were ever directly conquered from outside, even Japan survived two nukes (and even then their ideology made them support Germany in that war) and came back stronger. Countries which were destroyed like Pakistan were not destroyed by externa, enemies, their destruction all done from inside by the ideology they created and spread. Pakistani army had so much power because of the hatred people had against Bangladeshi language and other religions inside their own country. They preached fear of india and fear of other languages and religion and choose the army to "protect" them. And that army ate the nation.

Jena is unfortunately not a big prospect for a medal. Unless he is able to get to 88m. He will do well to get into the top 6 IMO. He usually throws ~82m.

Athapaththu is a class player. Better than Smriti/Harman as a package(great batter, bowler, captain). Was shocked when she went unsold in the first WPL. Our IPL setup is too Gora biased.

We actually had a few in both men and women about 10 yrs back. Seema Antil in the women's side and Krishna Gowda in the mens who did well at the Commonwealth and Asian Games level. Noone in the new generation. We have a couple of folks who are doing well in Long Jump and Triple jump - but they are very injury prone. Also, almost 1m behind the world champs.

In Asian games he threw 87.54m , for Paris qualification he threw 86+....and having a friend like neeraj in the event also counts...he also makes life of neeraj easier. No other country has this luxury in javelin I guess. Neeraj is World rank 2, jena rank 7.

Yes he did way past his best for both. He hasn't done as well after that .
