Him and bhupathi were a force in doubles then fought with each other and split and started playing with others. But no Indian after him are even winning doubles or mixed doubles. I thought India has more facilities and coaches now than in 90s.

False. Most of the top players did not play a lot of doubles in the 70s or 80s. you think that, because pretty much only McEnroe did and he was the greatest doubles guy of all time. But reality is, players like Borg, Lendl, Connors, Wilander, etc. barely played much doubles. Reality is, Leander is one of the greatest doubles players to ever play the game. in terms of players who've played at least 200 career doubles matches, he is easily in the top 10. if players like woodforde & his other wood guy can be celebrated, i don't see why Leander can't. Contrary to popular perception, being a great doubles player has its own place in tennis history, as contrary to popular beleifs, you can't just insert top class singles dude randomly to a doubles match and expect their team to win. coffee_rules 1

Greatest tennis duo are the Woodies from Aus and they were at their best in the 90s. Bhupati and Paes could have been their successors but unfortunately fell apart. Even so he forged a great partnership with Martina Hingis and has won many doubles titles and slams. One of the doubles legends of tennis for sure.

True. Doubles play is very different from Singles play. Tbh it can be more entertaining than singles as well as it's not so easy to win with outright power as someone at the net can just dink your super passing shot (in singles) back where you or your partner cannot reach it. It is very strategic compared to singles. Where singles players are usually at an advantage in doubles though is in the serve. They are usually way better at serving fast. The rest of the game they usually are at a disadvantage. coffee_rules 1

Have you ever seen any top 10 ranked male player in the last 30 years take doubles seriously?
