Ben Stokes - Avg 35( RPI - 34) => He is good in english conditions. He can't do reverse swing and which is most potent weapon for medium pacer IMO.

Ravindra Jadeja - Avg 36( RPI - 29) ==> he is beast in Indian spinning friendly conditions with bat and ball.

Imran Khan - Avg 37( RPI - 30) ==> Dont fool by his numbers. His number is inflated by 14 players team which including empires. Plus at his time he was surrounded by ball temperarers. His drug addiction can be performance enhancer too. The Hakim with white powder is easy go get in Pakistan since 1970s.

Kapil Dev - Avg 31( RPI - 28) ==> Atheletic cricketer. he can do much better than Pandya and his average is actually bad because of lack of supporting guys in bowling.

Ian Botham - Avg 33( RPI - 32) ==> one of the best i recogn.

Away averages :-

Imran - 33

Stokes - 32.5

Botham - 32

Jadeja - 31.8

Kapil - 26

Imran still has a better away average than rest despite all the home conditions accusations.

Damn sometimes I forget how good imrans batting was

Kapil and Botham were largely counter attackers. Imran tuk tuker with occasional quick innings on roads. Stokes is more a batsman than a bowler. He had to be responsible.

Imran averages a lot more than those two and has a better away average so home umpires blame isn't sufficient to get them a nod over Imran.

Botham > Imran > Kapil in Tests as batters in my opinion. Imran has more runs per innings and better away average than Kapil.

Why just batting? Stokes barely bowls and hence can't be in league of other ARs :dontknow:

Stokes has 202 wickets, that's enough to qualify as all rounder. He is batting A/R.

Less than 2 wickets per Test is too low if we are just talking about comparison. Batting AR would obviously be better in just batting than other balanced/bowling ARs

He needs to compared with Kallis,Sobers etc and there he falls short.

Kapil dev never valued his batting. His test strike rate was around 80 in the 80s which was fairly high in that era.  Imran was a statpadder after mid 80s. He is not as good a batsman as Kapil or Botham.
