Kohli has scored a staggering 1646 runs in 29 test matches (50 innings) averaging a mighty 33.49 in the last 4.5 years. Missed countless test matches and India still did mighty well without him.

 

In comparison Joe root has scored 4000 runs in the last 3.5 years.

Root Scored 12000 plus runs in his first 12 years where as Sachin did not even score 7500 run his his first 12 years.

India won one lousy test in 1990s away from India. Did they need Sachin to lose , they would lost without him too, what exactly did Sachin do there.

 

This notion India did fine without Kohli is idiotic. Kohli as for now is only behind Sachin and Sunny in tests even after his slump.

Kohli fans & some indian fans conveniently forget that root was sitting on 17 test 100s in the startof 2021. Now he is on 32 &  almost doubled the # of 100s in just less than 4 years.

 

At this point Kohli is not even in the discussion of batting greats.
