And some folks were praising Harmanpreet for her knock against Australia about how amazing it was and only if someone had contributed 6-10 runs from the other end..Look how the Saffers are chasing the target here, their batters have taken most of the risks between 10-13 overs and literally killed the chase in advance , Harman and others were doing tuk tuk and statpadding at the same stage with the usual 27(31) deliveries approach, she didn't take risks at the right time let the Run rate increase to  14 where around 40-41 were needed in the last 3 overs, then struck a few Andhe Dhundhe boundaries to improve her S/R in the final overs which helped a loser knock look like a Lion Hearted Single handed effort on the scoreboard..

Misbah Mohali kind of knock.

I hope SA women win the tourney. Would be good to see them break the ICC trophy drought.

They already have U19 and ICC Knockout trophy.

SA did win the ICC trophy 1998.  Under Hansie Cronje.   Thats the only ICC title they hv.  (Not incl the U19 title).

u-19 doesn't count as the main one. And that ICC knockout trophy wasn't deemed CT at the time - probably the reason SA won it as they didn't feel the pressure of winning an ICC tourney

Beating Aussies in an ICC KO is always special. First time RSA have done it I guess, at any level. Their men only have heartbreaks to report.

Aussies will strike back with vengeance, will go on a rampage in the 50 overs WC next year in India.

Yeah they aren't, look how easily they are losing here..the Aussies team is not some invincible Male Teams of the 2000s it's just that the other teams are crap, including the Highest Paid ones benefitting from Sabka Vikaas Yogna

That is okay bhai but payment se kya dikkat hai. Even our male team earns 10x more than teams which are way more successful than them.

Meg Lanning's retirement has come as a huge blow to them, just 32 now. Their batting is not as scary anymore, Healy too missed out here and against India, their best batter.

Shame that India couldn't do this in Sharjah, laanat on our team. So many better players than PR queen Mandhana.

Even women's trophy is not the 'main one'

Wi have already won a T20 WC, in 2016.

NZ won the 50 overs WC in 2000, beating a legendary Aussie team in the final (one that had Belinda Clark, Rolton, Zoe Goss and the fastest ever pacer Fitzpatrick)

Hope RSA go all the way, they have never won an ICC trophy, like India.

Could well be the case.  But hv to admit that was a GOAT SA team under Cronje in the 1990s.   Overall, they were much stronger than even Aus. (Both ODI & Tests).

They had everything covered, but Warne was the difference between the 2 sides. Symcox, Adams, Boje were bang mediocre.

SA had match winning pacers though.  Donald Pollock McMillan F Devillers  etc

Yeah, great personnel. They have always been great, even their current white ball teams have trophy winning potential.

Australia Women’s defeats in Women’s T20 WC knockouts
By 8 wickets vs ENG-W, The Oval, 2009 SF
By 8 wickets vs WI-W, Kolkata, 2016 Final
By 8 wickets vs SA-W, Dubai, 2024 SF

Australia Women’s streak of 15 consecutive wins in the Women’s T20 World Cup has been broken, no other team has won more than seven back-to-back games in the competition’s history.

Australia’s last defeat in Women’s T20Is was also against South Africa - in Canberra in January; they’d won 11 straight games thereafter.

Time to bring accountability in our women's setup. With inclusion in Olympics, all the more important, need at least a bronze which looks difficult.

They were very strong ,overall as a unit they were clinical but lacked magicians like Aus had Warne,McGrath,Gilchrist

Even India and WI had Sachin and Lara who could knockout the best in full flow
