Hinduism can survive without caste. It will be an awesome, flawless religion without it.

I am a Sindhi who doesn't know about his caste, and neither does my father know.

Sindhi meaning Sindhi language, some specific Sindhi food and some Sindhi festivals like chetichand etc. I am a vegetarian, an agnostic Hindu, a delhiite, a Sindhi, an engineer who likes (or used to like) mathematics. Caste is not part of my identity. I don't get why it should be for anyone. People want something to falsely feel good about themselves which is why they associate with a caste. Other people want to group up as a caste to dominate other people. There are no good reasons to associate with caste.

Caste, when started as varna wasn't a bad thing.
It was a classification based on the type of work one used to do. Just like in IT we have Database Engineers, IT Administrators, Infra Support, Project Manager, Designer etc.

Which role is more important for a company varies, for ex. Tech Architect is a client facing role and as it requires solutioning, so people may think it's more important that an Internal IT engineer. But eventually for a project success all roles have to work together, just like a society. But just like in IT where an individual can switch roles based on his aspiration and skillset, even the varnas (castes) can also change depending upon the work they do to the society.

I guess sigh of relief for NCR people as well. Otherwise fake farmers would have made life hell.

It's actually opposite. Jaats are now angry. Many are seeing this as other castes ganged together to stop a jaat CM.75% of Land in Haryana is owned by them. . They will be ready for protests for minor things . Having a jaat CM would have kept them in control. Being sturdy they are fit for all type protests

They are an army for Congress that’s all. They were fine under Hooda for 10 years from 04-14 enjoying all benefits, jobs and development of their areas and just after two months of Khattar government, they came on the streets for reservations to be declared OBCs. The street protests are just an excuse for Congress to destabilize the society. Punjabis (12%) have voted for BJP. :winky:

Actually Jaats were with lok Dal earlier. They did not even come to protest under Vajpayee. Congress used to make non jaat CM like Bhajan laal while Devi Lal used to be sole leader of Jaats. Things started changing with emergence of Hooda family and declining popularity of chautala family

For last 10 years, you lot keep talking how if BJP wins, there will be fire.

So kudus for today admitting, that it will be actually your side, your voters who will start the fire, want the fire.

Nevertheless, BJP has proven to be better at handling law & order, development and social welfare and thats why the people really want.

The more the Jaats will 'protest' the better it will be for the BJP in Haryana. Haven't they learnt the lesson already lol.

Non-Jaat Hindus have grown tired of their  antics and caste politics in Haryana. Jaats in Haryana have become like the Yadavs in Bihar.

You don’t give up? You don’t learn anything?

Its 10 years and you keep repeating the same threats. How there will be fire, chaos, if the results aren’t to your desires.

That Jaats vote only congress is a myth. This time BJP has won 5 seats that where Jaats are in majority and were counted sure-shot for Congress and supda-saaf for BJP.  I think the business owners who are upper caste Jaats and Punjabis are sick of the yeal long farmers strike that affected their business a lot.

Haryana is very successful version of Punjab. But it also has big drug issue. Its just that people are more gainfully employed than Punjab.

Overall Punjab + Himachal + Haryana should be 1.5 Trillion USD belt with all the resources that they have. This should be the ambition

Seeing the ballot polls results completely favoring Congress, shows the immediate challenge for BJP.

Bureaucracy, Farmers, Army have a huge lobby, and do not like change of status quo, innovations, and competition. The country needs constant innovation, not just false pride over them, and its caste leaders.

One thing coming out clearly. Yogi has made big impact on these elections. When Pratap Bhanu Mehta acknowledges this you have to accept that impact is real. Batengey toh katengey.

What impact? Congress got 39% votes. In many seats they lost because of their rebel independents which actually ate their vote. The fact is over emphasis on jaats by Congress actually back fired. Dalits which they were expecting fully backing them did not happen. Mayawati who was absent from LS elections came back with INLD alliance. This also took away 3-4% Dalit votes . Uchana Kalan a hardcore jaat seat is won by BJP with just 32 votes.BJP fielded Brahmin candidate while jaat candidate of Congress was fighting with 3-4 number independent jaats on 5th Dushyant Chautala came. Even in 2009 opinion/exit polls predicted huge victory for Hooda but he too then was restricted to 40 seats . Alliance with smaller parties actually saved him.

Congress got 39% of votes after being out of power for 10 years. This is utterly shameful. Rebel independents each party has them. Bjp worked out the caste equation well. Yogi campaigned areas have done well and feedback has gone to HQ.

You are only seeing how Congress vote got divided. Yogi campaigned and his batenge to katenge and focus on BD like situation has resonated well in consolidating Hindu vote. Plus the RSS effort to get voters to the booth made sure those votes actually got voted. Modi taking a back seat to Saini also helped in a major way.
