Indians, especially dharmics, in general are a servile lot. We must be only country in history to have such an overwhelming economic/military/cultural superiority over neighbors and yet get bullied all the time. FGS Maldives with 3.5 lakhs population has brought us down to our knees...where they can order our troops to leave, hurl all sorts of insults and then we go back to them begging, kissing their feet and signing big grants with no quid pro quo. Or our helplessness against BD, or Simla agreement after winning the war comprehensively. Then we dream about taking on a behemoth like China.

The original branch of Ministry of Crab is in Srilanka. The last time we toured Srilanka in 2017 Kohli and the team visited that Restaurant.

We haven't been following dharmic principles re statecraft and foreign policy for some time tbh, if we did then it wouldn't have come to this. In Sri Lanka and Nepal we actively ensured we would shoot ourselves on the foot in the future with what we were doing.

But more specifically it's been a colonial legacy which hasn't allowed us to see our neighborhood the way US sees the American continent with the Monroe doctrine until perhaps recently imo. 1971 happened in large part due to the Soviets and the Great game which was going on in the IOR apart from some intiative which we had to show due to our NE being destabilized. If your actions are like a soft state then when you don't behave like that and go against the grain it is bound to ruffle some feathers which again ties in to how you see yourself in the world. Pooks have clarity in this regard regardless of anything else you might say about them which is why Musharraf said that if India and Pakistan's places were reversed then they'd make life a lot worse for us.

They should look to bat for 2.5 sessions tomorrow, take 250 runs lead and further tire out Pakistanis. Knowing their fitness I am sure Shaheen and Naseem will be ruled out of rest of the series. 

 

Yeah 400 looks tough, but Root can definitely get 300-350 here. Something Kohli too should have done against RSA in Pune (2019), where he prematurely declared and India still won by an innings in 3.5 days.

Maldives and most of our neighbors don't have a choice, especially the aqua Kanglus. They can try to flirt with China but eventually have to come back to us due to geography which is why Muizzu himself has toned down the anti India rhetoric compared to when he got elected. In every one of these nations which are democratic you have a pro-China, pro-US and pro-India party and even factions within the parties like in Nepal with these factions. We just have to know how to play them without self sabotaging or getting provoked every time and ensure our interests are protected.
