Mukesh may have his limits but he is a good FC bowler.

Most of the batters in this team are playing in Australia for the first time. It takes time to get used to the pace and bounce of Aussie pitches. Ruturaj was unlucky, got out on a nothing delivery down leg. Indrajeet was given out wrongly.

thats the point he doesnt have a very high ceiling...nor age on his sid .and we want good intnl bowlers for team..the best thing he has is that he is less injury prone as compared other players we have..

Mukesh kumar is kind of bowler who is liked v.much in Ind cricket circles harmless- line and length bowler. Think Kamboj will also make it to Ind side soon, kind of same template bowler.

 

Not oppose of the age, some are late bloomers, bt at 30 one should be able to directly fit into the team and able to perform their role, if they still need A tours or shadow tours then what is the point , send some younger player who will gain exp. out of it and down the line in 1-2 years will use it and be longterm solution.

 

Do not see any point in selecting and playing Saini in the A tours what has he improved so far?? Its just wasting one slot.

Take an example of Manish pandey who played his entire career in A teams never able to graduate to Intnl level even when Ind was looking for a #4 he was no good for that spot. and because of choosing Manish pandey for every A tour Ind did not add any younger batter who can play ar #3/4 in A tours.

 

Mukesh does not look like test-quality or even Odi quality, most of the times he looked like club level bowler in tests and odi.

Yes they can try him in t20is as and when bhumrah/shami are nt playing but then again you r creating a player who is not good enough to play high profile matches and can not be part of 18 member squad for big icc events and is same age as the other guy who is covering fr.

 

Thats where this no-upgarde/like for like model is flawed by design, you are creating a back-ups who is not a better version of current player. The thing happened in case of Bhuvi-D.Chahar, yes chahar hd injury problems but this is not an upgrade model.

 

Even with axar-jadeja things will go in same direction , once jadeja fades axar's role will also fade

True. YOu don't look at any bowler and go "Wow".  Most of the cases we make are based on stats rather than wow factor.  Akash deep has some potential. But he has to expand his range like developing good short ball.

This A side is supposed to be a WIP side and that has been clearly demonstrated. Still have a considerable way to go. Some shouldn't be anywhere near the national test side.

Opening batsmen averaging at least above 45 in FC should be picked. In australia, the most important thing to survive is leaving the ball. You can trust the bounce.

Have always felt this thing about him that he is barely international material. The way even Muzarbani made him dance on a slightly helpful surface was embarassing.
