express bowling Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 (edited) Dhruv Jurel 80 runs against Australia A .... out of a total of 161 .... on a green top with bounce .... displayed great technique This is how one spots a fighting mentality cricketer. He should play as a pure batsman from now on, even if Pant is available. Edited November 7, 2024 by express bowling sensible-indian, Manucrick, tweaker and 5 others 1 4 3
devisreeprasadmahesh Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 These fellows shouldn't be in the international reckoning anymore. (Before that Ajit agarkar should be removed. One of the worst selection personals in the recent times. Giving opportunity time and again to the habitual failures) Kl Rahul Siraj Prasidh Khaleel Avesh khan Mukesh Saini (He was ruined by BCCI as a fast bowler by not picking him early) Guys like kl rahul, siraj, prasidh and Avesh khan are complete waste of time. Their names shouldn't even be discussed. 5 hours ago, express bowling said: Dhruv Jurel 80 runs against Australia A .... out of a total of 161 .... on a green top with bounce .... displayed great technique This is how one spots a fighting mentality cricketer. It is an obscure term that can’t be quantified. Just use numbers, a player can’t statpad forever by scoring runs on meaningless games, eventually it will catch up… You are being too logical. Don't use intelligence please use emotion and make emotional posts that will get others to agree based on emotion. How can you use some intelligence and logic? What do you think you are? Normal human with average intelligence? Haaa.. This is icf OK.. ash 1

Kohli stood tall for us in 2018 england tour when all others were failing, I am quite sure you think he is a sooperstar and a choker This is basically a moniker, there is no such thing. This argument can be used to bring every struggling batsman. Rahane was a fighter in 2014, we need him. Lord 1

It changes at different phases of one's life. We have to pick cricketers who have it now. Kohli, till 2019, was known as a master chaser for a reason. He could absorb the pressure and aced many chases, especially in LOIs. Some of his test innings in Australia 2014 won't be forgotten either. The current day Kohli has lost interest in cricket. Probably dragging on because he is being forced to by people benefitting from brand Kohli. There is a reason why squads are chosen for every series and not for the next 5 years. Pant of 2032 may not be a fighting mentality cricketer even though he may retain the ability to bat. express bowling, the ICF poster, may not love fast bowling in the year 2054. Mentality changes. When I was in my 20s, I loved to drive at 100 kmph+ within city limits, whenever I found a free stretch of road. Can't even think of doing it nowadays. And not all players perform in big matches or tough situations even when they are in form. Edited November 8, 2024 by express bowling Vijy, Suhaan and Sgattick10 3

If you didn't have a family to feed or responsibility of your kids, you might still be taking those risks but not that much now Those players who perform in big matches do it irrespective of form. Kohli turned even in WT20 finals this year despite horrible form. In Test just he lost his ability to bat on tough tracks

He takes risky single on first bowl coz he knows he can't survive the spinner. If he could, he would have found a way. Definitely the best example of fighting mentality out there. Although I don't consider his final performance that good, 2022 World Cup is better example. Lord and Rondu 2

In Test just he lost his ability to bat on tough tracks Interest, motivation and will to succeed play big parts in someone displaying fighting mentality in a certain field. ( even if he or she is a generally mentally strong person ). And these are not constants in life. Regarding your point of " it's just good form " in an earlier post ... you have to just look at Australia and South Aftica in the last 30 years. Both had high quality pacers and batters but Australia won every big tournament multiple times .. 5 ODI World Cups, 1 WTC and 1 T20 World Cup while South Africa won absolutely nothing. The difference was fighting and winning mentality. Edited November 9, 2024 by express bowling Vijy 1

We left good runs on the board because of Kohli innings and it's stupid to claim pandya and jadeja would kot have done better. It was a match losing innings and we deserve to lose if not for South africa epic choke, any other team, would have won for their. This propaganda of crediting Kohli got world t20 is hilarious, he was a complete passenger entire tournament and played one of the worst t20 innings in history. We won due to Bumrah and Axar ofcourse but Kohli had a role

And what is your definition of early? Kohli had stabilized the innings after playing few overs. He then continued playing run a ball for a long long long time after we had already stabilized. After losing 3 wickets we didn't lose another wicket till 13 over, that's the definition of stabilize d. Yet kohli continued playing run a ball. Pandya and jadeja got 2 balls each to play. They have come in way way way before in earlier matches. Give them 5 overs and we would have crossed 209 easily in a flat track But but but we shouldn't hit before 19th over This Kohli defending is now becoming retarded. Edited November 9, 2024 by New guy

Yes he should have hit out early. Never said it was a perfect knock. Early means soon after SKY got out. We didn't lose a wicket because of stabilisation. Axar was hitting while Kohli held an end, ofcourse should have still hit out. But that doesn't make it a poor knock. He still did better than Rohit, SKY,Pant
