Axar and Kishan were brilliant with their catches in the last two matches but Tilak too took some great reverse cupped catches just behind the ropes during peak moments.

People wrote him off in initial years, saying the 21 Eng test series was an outlier because of the pitches. 

 

Axar replied by being the best batsman of 23 BGT....outbatting Khawaja, Smith, Warner, Labu, Rohit, Gill, Kohli, Pujara etc.  

 

Then big role in last 3 ICC tournament wins. Somehow, with bat or ball or in the field, he finds ways to contribute. And is so clutch.....mentality monster. His catching won us the SF, bowling won us the final. 

 

Tremendously underrated player, Indian cricket is better off thanks to Axar Patel. The impact a guy like Axar can leave in 5 years, many can't match that in their entire careers.

Jadeja, Ashwin, Axar....even Washi has had so much impact in tests. Long may this trend continue.

Axar must replace Jadeja in ODI setup. He may have less impact in ODI cricket but he is miles better than Jadeja.
